Storing Organic Hydroponic Nutrients. Recommended places?

Alright, I was just curious to see if there is any rule of thumb regarding the storage of organic nutrients.

Is it bad to leave them in the grow room itself? Will the lights kill/bake the nutes?

Also, can storing them in the cold hurt them in any way?

What type of organic ferts are you referring to? fish emulsion? guano? or an organic bottled fert?

As Serapis mentioned, how far you need to go to store them depends on the fertilizer. Most unmixed ferts keep fine for a long time. Once you've mixed them or made them into tea, the average organic fertilizer will only keep a few days at most. Storing these in the refrigerator will increase their shelf life for two weeks or more. Freezing will often keep mixed ferts good practically forever. If you're not sure, keeping them cold can only help. Always mark fertilizers in the fridge as poisonous and obviously store out of children's reach.

I was specifically referring to the Fox Farm line, sorry I didn't post that in the beginning.

I keep mixed nutes in dark containers, If i have to keep any mixed. Just shake it up, and test with tds and ph before using.

Appreciate the info guys, I will definitely keep this in mind. Also, I bought some Bonticare Aquashield. It's a liquid "compost solution", the guy at my hydro store said it would take care of my root rot (for the most part it did, I had res temps of 80+ and they still shined fairly white), but I failed to pick out a good bottle and got one that expires in March 2011.

Are these expiration dates just estimates so they'll get you to by more as soon as possible, or does a solution like that decompose totally in one year?

Organic teas only stay good so long and any premixed fertilizer with organic teas in it shouldn't have that long of a shelf life. If it did, I'd be suspicious of preservatives and god knows what else having been added.

We don't use premixed ferts and one of the benefits is that the base ferts they come from, by themselves usually last a long time. Like if you see a bottle of fertilizer that is mostly Guano tea, you could just get the Guano and it will last much longer than the bottled fertilizer will.
