Press the keif into a brick, and store it in a glass container. I do it that way and it lasts forever with no issues.
I also divide it up by the quality, top shelf for special events and mid-grade for everyday.

store it? pfft. it's only 1 oz. smoke that shiat. Press it very lightly so it doesn't break the trichromes, but just swishes them together. Pressing with heat is for export.

I use a dry storage area, cool & dark (ie; basement drawer). I use a "pollen press" . You can find them online, like at Amazon for cheap. Nothing fancy, but works great.
I don't use any heat at all either as previous poster noted.

I've been looking into the dry ice extraction and I will definitely be giving it a try.
Sorry to go off topic but had a question. Do you dry the trim first and than you put it in a coffee grinder? Or do you just take the trim straight off the plants and grind it up?

Last batch was from trim in a paper bag from the freezer but you can use fresh. I pulled the sacks and dropped them into the screen bag with the dry ice, no grind is required. The ice will pulverize the leaves and stems.

As far as storage, I don't compress it. I fold it up in parchment paper squares and store in an air tight glass container with a hydrpack at 62% humidity. I also break it up by quality and strain. I keep it in dark storage at around 74 degrees. Mmmmm good.

Good stuff man, can't wait to try this out. What size micron bag do you use?

I've read that 90 and 73 (or whatever) give you the best quality, but I think that may be just for ice water bubble hash. A few gentle shakes, then stop and collect; this will be your best quality dry ice hash; continue. As you continue, the quality lessens.

I just ran some trim with the dry ice method. The way i found was after about 2-3 minutes, i scraped the mirror and looked at the kief sticking to the card, it was still blonde. After another 2-3 minutes i scraped a peice again and you could see green on the card where the leaves were breaking up fine and falling thru the 160 micron bag. So i based my shaking off of this, once I started seeing green, i trashed it and reloaded. I had a gallon ziplock freezer bag jam packed with trim and i pulled a jar and 3/4 of a jar from it (i used baby food jars with aluminum wrapped around the jars.

i use my trimmings from the close cuttings and small buds and let them dry in a brown bag then use a 200 micron bubble bag and 2 lbs of dry ice. the first shake is some very blond hash the second is a lil more darker and the third shake is green so i use that for edible's

A friend of mine had quite a bit of dry material, and we just recently sent it through the 150 micron bubble bag. Using three shake sessions per load, it yielded two rounds of nice blond with the third round containing a bit more plant matter. I found with the quality of material we were using, I could have probably used a 200 micron bag and got more yield. But with more yield comes more plant matter, and less quality. I figure, anything that may have been held back trichrome wise, I'll take care of in some cannabutter.
