stinky res.

hey whats up guys im new to using a resivoir i always just mix up a 5 gal bucket and use it up but ive filled a 40 gal res with a full mix of av some liquid karma cal mag but it stinks like rotten fish its only been 3 days and i have a killer water pump mixxing it all up. is it still good? is it supossed to stink? help please

Smell the bootle of stuff you put in res.. if that's what the res smells like then ur good to go..
You can also add a lil peroxide to help keep the res growth free.. Make sure you keep an eye on ur water temps as that will cause crazy PH fluctuation
 
ive done that nothing smells like fish also theres likes brown scumm on the side walls i think its the liquid karma does anyone else have this? my ambuent temp is always 69 degrees which is were my res is kept

That temp is fine.. Not sure bout the liquid karma, but usually brown scum is not good.. Do you have any peroxide?

any gaps where light can get in the res, Picture of your setup and the stuff on the side will help. I use Aqua Shield as an additive that prevents against scum
 
im having problems uploading but i do have a white res which light can penatrate i did not know that thanks how much peroxide should i use per gal? ive already disposed of it shamefully im discouraged from using a res even through mixing nutes everday is anoyying

Once you get the hang of them and dial it in, it's one of the least maintenance ways it is..
