This is more of a vent than asking for advice, it's been bugging me for a while. I'm sure some of you know similar people like the one I'm about to describe.
I know a person and I'd call him a friend, but man, what a stingy SOB. Before I grew anything he was the only person I could get smoke from. I haven't been smoking long and didn't know anyone else, I look like a school teacher or cop so scoring from an anonymous, random source was out.
Anyway, last year I asked him for a bit of weed and offered to buy it. He says "well, give me some paint and I'll hook you up" . (I had just painted the inside and outside of the house so had gallons remaining). So I give him about $40.00 - $50.00 worth of interior paint. He comes over later and hands me enough to roll a pinroll joint and it was Mexican brick trash.
I thank him but really was thinking WTF man.
Anyway, a few weeks go by and he says "hey, I'm picking some up, you want to get an OZ?". So I say "sure", not really worrying about price because I can't get it elsewhere anyway. Later that day, I go over and it's $100 for my OZ of yet more Mexican brick garbage that barely got me high.
In the back of my mind I'm thinking "there has got to be a way to get good quality weed at a reasonable price, this is some BS man". That's what got me trying to learn everything I could off forums like this. I ended up ordering seeds, got some hydro equipment, nutes, a few HID setups etc.
Fast forward 4 or so months. I had, in my opinion a really good harvest considering it was my first time growing. So there I am, with about 10 -12 ozs of harvested bud. The first thing I do is go over to my friends house with various strains and give him about 5-6 ozs total as I thought it would go bad before I could use it all and in a way I was "thankful" that he even scored some for me although it was trash. (I don't use much and didn't know about the shelf-life in mason jars at the time and freezing out of the question due to family members)
After what seemed like just a month or two my friend has me come by and then asks me for more. He says, "I want to pay you at least something for it." He smokes pretty much all day. So I'm thinking "whatever, I can spare another oz". At the time, my supply seemed unlimited considering my low usage.
So I go over there and even gave him a bit more than an oz, about 1.25 and it was fire. He hands me 100.00 and I'm thinking WTF...does this look like that brick shit you had that spent 92 hours in someones gas tank?...
I didn't say anything although he has more money than I.
3 weeks later... "hey can you come by?" I'm like "hell no, not this crap again" so I said that I'm saving the rest.
Fast forward to just yesterday. Now I'm completely out of weed and my next harvest is 2 months away so I go over to his place. I ask, "hey, do you have anything good or can you get some?" He goes, "yeah, I spent extra to get a few oz's of OG Kush from my dealer but I can only sell you a little bit". So I say OK. He asked $75 for an eight of an ounce.....!
At that point, I just said to myself, "I'm never going to help this guy out again". He ain't getting a gram from my next harvest and can keep smoking that Mexican trash or spend a fortune on a decent strain.
I'm thankful I told him it was too scary for me to grow again after I gave him almost half of my first harvest.
No-one's getting jack off FrostyPelican ever again!
