I cannot find a solution to my plant probs. they went from doing just fine to this....20130219_235907.jpg bottom leaves are pretty much all gone and the tops are what we have here. new leaves are growing in but the come out dried out looking and wilting. ph is 5.5 lights on 18/6. temp around 80 humidity @ 55/60 percent. one fan. 4x4. with a co2 bag I just placed in today. passive intake. watering every other hr for an hr. ( just started this yesterday). 1nch starter cubes. hydroton for medium. thought root rot was initial prob so introduced h2o2 to my res, got ride of the 4inch rockwoll cubes and most all dead roots and was left with this..20130219_182732.jpg. can anyone help me fig out my issue and a solution...?

When you lose roots you lose canopy.

Could you tell us more about your reservoir, please. What nutrients, amount of them, temperature of the fluid and method of hydro you're using. Also what do you mean you thought root rot was the problem, initially? Did you change your mind? If so why?

Oh and I think Bluehillsmoker may have nailed the problem. How much Hydrogen Peroxide did you use and what was the strength? It doesn't take much.

ph 5.5 ppm 800 (recently lowered from 1k. man suggested) dutch master gold lineup. a/b zone, silica, add 2.7. top drip system. ebb n flow flood and drain for flowering. not sure of the temp. wasn't sure it mattered for either of my methods. still thinking it was root rot hence why I used the h2o2 29% from my hydro shop.

Too much heat will make leaf twist & turn & dry out...temps don't have to be too high, lights can be too close & if not vented properly u can verywell have them sitting in a sauna. I did this when I used cfl's, kept them close & had the domes over the lights holding the heat right on top of the plants curling & drying them up.

I would never grow at 5.5, That would be my first start. The leves are twisting because the PH is to low, they are not getting the Nutz,, similer if you were over ferting, but with the PH at 5.5 I would start there.
