Stevia Questions

Hi all. i started looking at more natural stuff to use for my coffee and teas and I came across Stevia seeds. I was wondering if anyone has grown it and know how to grow it indoors. Growing out door isn't the route that I want to go because I want to grow it faster and have more control over things.

Is there a method to make Stevia syrups with out using liquor?

from what I understood, the liquid stevia I purchase is a water extracted essential oil from the leaf of the plant. I use SweetLeaf brand

Thanks. I am looking to grow some in a DWC system and I found some Heirloom seeds for it. I know they are hard to germinate but I am going for heirloom seeds when ever I can.

Stevia kind of tastes like splenda and chlorophyll. Its probably 10x sweeter than sugar. Its pretty low maintenance as far as I have seen. I took the leaves and dried them then ground into powder. Its amazing in lemonade and if you let it steep for a few hours the lemonade turns a nice jade color. Not so sure how good it goes with coffee. Might be better as an extract. You can boil your stevia in plain water at a 1:1 ratio. Take stevia out after 15 mins and let wayer boil until its a little syrupy. Thats a basic way to do it. Im sure im missing something. Peace

Heirloom Stevia in a DWC system is something I would love to see. I have been wanting to grow my own Stevia for a while now.
