I agree Dustin Hoffman was GREAT in that movie. I really should have tiled it ...costarring in Papillion...but I think Steve was a bigger name at that time. Why what with Bullit and all. But yeah Loius Dega...both crazy as hell at the end. Solitary Confinement does that to a man. Christ, can you image 5-10 YEARS in solitary. I shudder to think of it.Wut about about Dustin Hoffman, he was good in that film as well.
That had to have its perks!!! I can remember a time or two getting in via the trunk!!!Great movie!
My dad ran a drive in back in the 60's and 70's and I saw many great movies on that big ole screen and that movie was one of them ! The Great Escape, Flight of the Phoenix, Cool Hand Luke just 3 that come to mind !
The flight of the Phoenix was just recently remade 5 or 6 years ago maybe longer. If I remember correctly one of the Quaid brothers was the star but it didn't hold a candle to the original .I've gotta look up this Flight of the Phoenix, I don't recall that one. So many good classics out there to rediscover. I cancelled my cable television 3 months ago and haven't been happier, fk that spoon-fed expensive dribble.
Papillon has special significance for me in my private life, so it will always be a sentimental fave. But that aside, it's a great movie for it's pacing. Did you see Birdman of Alcatraz? Another oldie but awesome. Gotta love melodramatic Burt Lancaster. So I dusted that one off and watched it again last night. Haven't seen it since like the '70s. I can't believe that bitch in the church turned him in. Fuckin rag-tag ole bitch.

Attenborough was the old dude in the Jurassic park movies that created the first park.. ..he just recently died !The Flight of the Phoenix- holy shit that's some cast, Borgnine, Stewart.. can't picture Attenborough right now.
Good heads-up on remake. I know one thing it prolly wasn't Randy Quaid involved. huge Randy Quaid fan!

That was Chong who mentioned Cheech drives like McQueen. And Cheech mentions Steve McQueen for the win.
Going on the list! Thanks man!Another great Dustin Hoffman classic was 'Marathon Man'. And @Yessica... if you're looking for a classic that rivals your profile pic, check out 'Omega Man'. Its an old Charlton Heston flick....its bound to be a little corny by today's standards so try and imagine yourself back into 1971.
