Step One. Buying seeds, what precautions should I do/take?

Any tips/advice when buying seeds online.

Should I use a computer at the library, or should I use a VPN service for my home computer?
Use a pre-paid card, if possible?
Deliver to someone else place with their name?

I do have an EU bank account, would it be safer to use that account to buy my seeds and deliver to the US?

open to suggestions!

Thanks

I just use a VPN at home, and if possible, pay with bitcoin. Some people use pre-paid cards, but I never bother. It's being delivered to my home address anyway - if they have that, they don't need your credit card info. It's really not that big of a deal; years ago I did see a news story about a couple who got busted after ordering seeds, but that was just one incident (as far as I know) and a long time ago.

Most will take regular CC cards and make no mention of items or company name.
However there are MANY GOOD ones and MANY BAD banks. Look thru the posts on banks growers here like .

I dont use private browsing or other shit like that. I order off my ipad and POOF seeds !

Some companies RESEND products if seeds are confiscated or lost .
This a resend due to being lost and they sent priority mail . I got in 5 days.

They aren't coming after you for your seeds..there are good seedbanks that are RIU members, use one of them and you will get your goods... stressing over seeds isnt the issue... the issue is who you tell that you are growing and what to do about it when they stop being your friend for some stupid reason... so buy from an RIU advertiser, don't stress over it and dont tell anyone you grow unless it is legal where you are.

I quick add on to this thread :
Don't EVER buy anything on craigslist ... No seeds or actual product.

Believe it or not , some guys actually paid and never got shit.

And you can start growing with bagseed to get some plants popping in the mean time.

Use a major CC in your name and have it sent to your own address. Don't try to do shady stuff like sending it to your neighbor or use a public computer in the library- you have protections for your purchase through your CC company and seeds are legal to sell. Get the stealth shipping & pay extra if required- tell them to break down the breeder packs if that option is offered & you'll be fine.

Depends how many you're ordering. If you're a commercial grower in a country, or a state in the US where it's illegal, then you're unlikely to get much helpful advice from hobbyists.

If you're ordering 5 seeds for a small tent grow, the authorities have neither the time nor the inclination to worry or care what you are doing with them.
