Stem too thick, cant do LST

So im trying hydro for the first time ... so far so good plants look happy. my only problem is that the stem is so fucking chonky that i cant bend it even a little.
Im at the beginning of the 4th week now ... im not sure if removig the main stem could help or what i should do in that situation.

Supercrop. Pinch it where you want it to bend. Start out pinching lightly and increasing pressure until you get enough to make the stem flexible. Just be careful with your fingernails so you don't accidentally cut thru the stem.

hmmm in hindsight i might just be a week too late, the stem is toothick and woody. i just bend it somewhat into the direction i want, a litte too high on the plant for my taste but better than nothing i guess, thx anyways

I've used 2 lighters, or any other hard round objects, and crushed especially stubborn branches between them.
