stem rot? all plants affected. why now?

Hey all,
12th grow on this indoor Hydroton clay setup. First time with "skunk Berry", 5th crop grown from seed.
I was constantly picking up thrips or other pests with local clones, but have had zero infestations since switching to seeds.

I cleaned/steralizedf medium as usual, and following same basic feeding schedule.

they've been planted for 15 days. I noticed one of three was weeping, but upon closer inspection found the rot. All three are affected.

thanks for any insight or suggestions for getting rid of this to start another crop!

looks like your rockwool is really wet. probably was rotting all the time and finally gave in
you can see mould on the rocks and the wool you did too much water

Sorry about the root rot. I'd probably try and cut that plant above the rot and dip it into rooting hormone and see if it will re-root. If I ran any kind of hydro setup, then I think I'd always have a backup of some pots and potting soil to transfer the plants. You obviously can get great results with hydro, but IF anything goes wrong, it's usually a disaster. If the water gets contaminated, etc., then the entire crop can be affected. More traditional methods of growing are usually a lot more forgiving. Good luck.

under the top of the rockwool cube or under the bottom? I always set the top to 1/4" above the waterline.

fyi, the picture was immediately after feeding. so the rock wool was wet

You want lots of airflow around the base of the plants. Lower leaves that form like an umbrella over the hydroton act like a humidity dome trapping heat and moisture to create a perfect environment for fungi and moulds. I always have an oscillating fan near the floor blowing back and forth across the tops of the pots and if it's a bushy plant I'll remove whatever leaves and limbs I have to so it stays dry around the bases of the plants.

If DWC the water level should be an inch below the bottom of the net pots at the highest. OK to let it go lower.

I am growing in coco/perlite mix and I have successfully treated a soft spot near the top of the medium on 2 plants- separate grows with hydrogen peroxide diluted with water.
Both developed an open “sore” that was mushy and whitish to a shallow depth. A couple treatments with the peroxide mix fixed things up and got me thru harvest. My plants were way further along at the time with a 2 inch stem and the open spot on one area just above the coco
