Stem looks like Peeling

The stem on a few of my plants looks like it has a top transparent layer pealing off. The leaves on the same two plants are also curling down, which I read lots of pages on here of what that can be. I am such a newbie, and can not find anywhere what peeling stem could be. If anyone has any ideas I greatly appreciate it.

depending on age its normal

well I am not sure how to tell you the age. They have been in veg. stage for apx 2 weeks. So while you are here, is age start from sprout? Thanks pilgram

yes start from sprout and ive seen two week olds shed its kinda like snakeskin

Same here, stem peeling just a day or 2 past two weeks and not seeing anything detrimental as of yet. it's rather common with other plants as well I've noticed.
