Stem Breakage?!!

Using an aerogarden. using all simple nutrients. have had no problems with any other parts of the plants. in early stages had a small yellowing, and brown spot problem with the leaves. but solved that with a simple spraying on the leaves for a few days. now the entire plant is healthy and am ready to change lighting to flowering. and am completely concerned with base of the stem. it has been turning brown and is very weak. seems to get slightly worse every day. any help would be great. would love to pull off a good grow. please help!!! need to fix this. added photos so everyone could see what was up. thank you..

Kinds looks like stem rot man hate to say it but I think theres no saving that plant. Hydrogen peroxide on the problem area support it so it cant fall over and you'll probably need to wait atleast a week after it begins to recover b4 you flower maybe someone will have a better solution but beyond that I know of nothing you can do so sorry man and good luck
 
been reading quite a few things about it. have identified it as 'pythium'. have applied peroxide to the site of the attack. also have it posted up with some stakes to keep it straight. its weird though how the rest of the plant is 100 percent completely healthy. and growing very nicely. always open for more ideas on how to fix this problem.. thanks for the help rolln1up
 
I would say that if that dose not fix the problem take some clones from the top of the plant that has not been affected so that you are not empty handed
 
well it has only been two days since i applied the peroxide. i would say no improvement but it doesnt seem to have gotten worse. i have put them in to flower because my other plant is ready and if this one does decide to die at least i can get something off of it. if it proceeds to get real bad i am going to go with the clones. so hopefully. how many times should i apply the peroxide and should i use fungicide?

Ive had the same thing to a few of my plants early on. 4 out of 5 survived. one got so weak that it died:cry:. but they are now doing great and i am now in the process of flowering them. I used a little superthrive 3drop /100ml in a spray bottle and sprayed the base of the plants with it. I dont know if it will work for u. but it saved my plants. I think the problem came from covering up the base of the plant with something to get rid of the algae and found that there was too much moisture around the base. I think its called damping off, not sure though. try the superthrive.
 
so i have gotten them to survive. they both are doing great. due to space and money. i had to clip the tallest plant. which is ok. i managed to get one healthy clone from the trimming. without anything but water and a nice cut. two and a half weeks into flowering. still no signs of males or females..
 
they are about three weeks into flowering now and finally have both shown their white hairs. so happy to know they are both female. post pics of buds soon
