Steaming hot worm bin!

My wife named 1 baby chick out of 15. Guess what, the fucking hawk in the tree snagged it last month. It was a big fat hen, still a chick, but I could tell that I was going to be a large egg layer. RIP "Goldie"

By the way, Hawks are protected and I dont need to get in trouble over shooting a damn bird!!!
Sorry to hear about the bin.
Take a 2x4 that's at least 3" long, hold one end in your hand, and place the other end on the ground, hold at a angle. Put your foot 1/3 of the way up from the bottom of the board. Step down with all your weight and release the hand held end of the board. It make a crack like you wouldn't believe. Shotgun style! I have problems with black birds where I live. Thousands in 1 tree. And I can't be poping off the mosberg in the city, so the board thing actually scares them away.

I have chickens eating from my worm bin and hawks hunting my chickens... This one was right above the baby chicks and 2 of them were in the tree bangin' when I went out there. The one in the tree is female and the male flew away...

That's a part of nature ,, I know it sucks but to me seeing a prey bird in action is an awesome phenomena , Never shoot birds, they have a hard enough time with man made structures and house cats ,, most birds are on the decline, it's frightening,
Count yourself lucky to have seen the Hawks "banging". Lol. That's funny right there

gotta get them covered man..
the neighbors have rabbits and chickens, and they are in gigantic cages, or the owls, bobcats, cougars, coyotes, hawks, vultures, and eagles would eat them... hell even raccoons and possums will eat baby chicks... can ya blame them though, they are good man... taste like chicken...
ok sorry I couldn't resist the joke
we have a LOT of predators around here, I even worry about my 50lb pitbull...
that aint nothing for a 150lb mountain lion that ambushes it's prey from above with a death-bite to the spinal column..
luckily for me (and my pit) there are a lot of easier things to eat around here

I could only imagine living in bear country. I was looking at homemade stink bait and that would attract all kinds of things!
