I made this thread to provide ideas for the people here who know for a fact they have what it takes to grow indoor but just cant because of there parents and the poor people like me lol! If i leave any important things out please let me know however you can. If anyone needs help along the way i can help ya.

ok here's some ideas on what you'll need to complete this set up or a similar one. (you do not need all of these to complete setup obviously you can ghetto rig some of these things to make up for it the decision is yours I'm simply telling you what i used to make my setup run:)


A wardrobe or dresser this is what i used for example it has doors for added protection and stealth

Reflective foil
1 gallon milk jug cut at the top per plant
A decent soil with good n/p/k
1 or 2 computer fans
2 23 watt cool white cfls, 1 Full spectrum cfl, and 1 warm cfl.
Fixtures to house the lights
Hinges
Basic set of tools to work with including a saw of some kind, tape measure, and screwdrivers


Before i get started i want you guys to know that constructing this thing is the hardest part and has to be done when parents are gone because of noise and privacy issues, it cant be stealthy if they see you building it lol. Happy Building and Good luck this build is small but is no picnic lol

Construction Phase:

 First we need to take the drawers out and if needed place wood for the floor section for support.
Once the drawers are out you need to put the reflective foil on the walls, roof, and floor for added light reflection get the best out of your bulbs!


Before you do anything to the drawers make sure that you will be able to make the cabinets in this tutorial. If you cannot maybe because the way your dresser is built and the drawers are exposed don't worry i will have a post about an alternative option.

First we need to measure the length and height of the opening for the cabinet doors to go. Once you have the measurements, you need to find a strong piece of wood colored the same way as the dresser or drawers for added stealthiness.(its ok if its not the same color as long as it doesn't compromise stealthiness. When you find the wood you need to cut that piece of wood using your measurements for Length+Height and make sure it fits into the slot (it should still be one piece of wood at this point), If it does then you need to cut that piece directly down the middle to make 2 cabinet doors you can use measurements for this cut too.
This is one of my custom made cabinet doors.


(remember this is a stealthy grow we do not want to get caught growing so be smart about what you do!)

Once we have the doors ready an the doors fit putting handles on the doors is encouraged at this point, we now hinge them to the sides it should look something like this. Putting a handle on the doors is encouraged at this point. (I used 2 hinges for each side this is the top hinge i have a bottom hinge out of the picture)

But wait what happens if my dresser drawers show and i cant make the cabinets....good question. picture like 2 or 3 false drawers (how ever many drawers you took out 2 in my case) your gonna need to take apart the drawers without damaging the front part which we well use to make false drawers. I had this setup until i got fed up with how difficult it was to get into the room and put the drawers back on, unless you can find another way to use the drawer fronts. but hey you wanna grow right? then you gotta deal with it.

The front part we want is the part facing up and the only part of the drawer seen when its in the dresser. Take the parts connecting to the front part and throw it away or keep in a safe place that wont raise questions


Once we have all our front parts of the drawer lets start with putting them on. First we need to screw the bottom drawer in the bottom left corner to a wood piece inside, same for the bottom right side. (I had to drill this by hand using a semi big screw and a screwdriver so no complaints lol) If you have a middle drawer, screw that one on the middle left side and middle right side of the drawer. If your top drawer is at the top of your dresser you can screw from the top down meaning the screw will be in the dresser pointed down into the top drawer, do this on both sides.

For this part i used 2 fans i got when i took apart an old tower pc computer. These fans do not have a wall plug in so were gonna have to make it have one.lol





to do this you will need a cell phone wall charger and electric tape. The way we do this is first the pc fan has 2 wires, strip them both about an inch and 1/2, do the same for the cellphone charger after you cut the part that plugs into the cellphone. Now your going to have to plug the wall charger into a wall plug and put both striped wires from the cell phone charger to both of the fan wires until the fan starts spinning. (I didn't get shocked doing this you shouldn't either use common sense) Unplug the wall charger before you attempt conjoining wires together using the electric tape. I have 2 fans the outtake is in the picture above i also have an intake to the left out of frame. You might want to have your outtake level with the lights to decrease the heat coming off the lights and your intake level with the plants to increase co2 from the fresh air. Cut a hole in the back and cover that hole with a black cloth with pinholes in it to decrease light for dark periods in flowering and there you go you have fans.

This is a very easy step just find fixtures to house the cfls then screw them to the roof of this room. (Or walls to get lights closer during early stages) I used fixtures that swivel for my convenience, plug em in an let there be light haaha.

Stealthin this bitch out

To completely stealth this bad boy out remember those square holes we cut out to make for the fans well if you haven't already done this take a black cloth a little bigger than the holes and put pinholes in the cloth and attach to the back of the dresser/wardrobe so that air can get in but light is halted you can modify this however. There will be light leaks in the front in the cracks of the doors but I've come up with a solution.

NO ITS NOT MAGIC......ITS VELCRO!!
So yes your gonna need double sided Velcro.
Measure the doors and add 3-4 inches to both sides of your measurements, we need a little extra blanket to Velcro the sides down as well as the top for some real light proofing. Then you cut a dark blanket to cover the opening once you've got it cut and its ready to hang, staple sticky side to the roof and wherever you want the blanket to stick to. Then i used a thin metal cord to weave the other side of the velcro to the blanket. (I attached foil to the blanket cover on the inside to increase reflectivity just a thought)
The last thing i do is for smell, I have a single glade pack on the upper part just sitting there not plugged in just the rubber looking pack so that my room doesn't get any smell. I've put a deodorizer in the grow room before and it had an adverse effect on the plants so i have not done that since, i try to keep my room smelling fresh rather the actual grow room ya dig!

If you followed this tutorial you now have a grow room that can double as a drying room. Happy Growing!!!!

hey smokeymcpopkinz, im a regular grower on a budget and always come here to riu to learn more and more and decided to look at what you have done.. well this is all i ever use. i have entertanment centers converted and dressors. they work real good temps are easy to control and odor. and if you live in an apartment like i do, you dont raise suspition when the landlord drops by.lol . any ways the last grow cab i built took me 3 days since i already had a dressor to take apart and no lie.. i did the same as you have posted. but i did this well over a year ago.. take a look at the pics and tell me what you think.. and for all you kids out there... learn and learn from the pro's. im 26 and been growing my own since i was 16..

I apologize if your post was truly meant in jest but it certainly doesn't come across that way. Considering the state of these boards lately I'm sure you can understand the rationale behind my response.

that's pretty cool man i love that idea of completely replacing the fronts and creating a real looking dresser drawer face n yea im retiring the drobe so before i did thought id pass along the legacy lmao but ppl can deff learn from yurs too from the looks of it
