stealth scrog grow with cfl's

Ok so I started a thread awhile ago about my grow but only had 1 reply and didn't get many views as I think I started it in the rong part of the forums so I thought I would update my grow and re post in a better part of the forums, Here is my original post..."hey guys im new to the forums, and this is my first time growing too, I started off just planting a seed for the hell of it just to see what would happen, not knowing anything about the hours of light etc etc that these things need. The plant grew, and was relying on sunlight but ended up being stunted at about 4" tall and flowering, producing about half a j's worth of bud haha. Anyway I started doing a bit of research and learnt abit about how to look after the plant so I cut it down to about 1" tall where there was a little bit of new growth coming out to try and re-veg it, and also re-potted and trimmed most of the roots off and put it under a 20w CFL for 18/6 of light. I didn't think the plant was going to survive me butchering it but soon it started showing signs of new growth and was growing rather fast too, although these leaves were mutated and looked nothing like marijuana leaves. I kept the plant under the light and it kept on growing so I decided to make a stealth cabinet to grow it in. I'll post some pics so you guys can have a look and give me your opinions/help. The plant is still on 18/6 but i'm thinking i'm gonna have to change to 12/12 soon, and I am also going to add a screen to do a bit of a scrog grow."I will add photos later because it's not letting me add any attachments right now for some reason?

So im currently about 3 weeks into flowering and the plant is still alive and looks healthy to me although it has been through quite abit of stress, growth slowed dramatically and I soon found out how important it is to feed the plant nutrients, so with that problem sorted, the plant was growing fast again and I started weaving it through the screen untill the screen was about 50% full and then switched the lights to 12/12 and everything has been going well apart from when I misjudged when the plant needed water and was shocked when I found it limp and lifeless, but luckily it was back to life an hour or two after watering, but I did lose alot of fan leaves that turned yellow and didn't recover from the underwatering, mostly at the bottom of the plant. So i'm about 3 weeks into flowering now and everything seems to be coming along nicely. I will post some pics as soon as it lets me and you can have a look at the plant and let me know if you think it's healthy or whatever.

Would like to see some picsAre you still just growing with the 20w cfl? What nutes are you using? Soil?

I'm using the 42 watt cfl with miracle grow soil and its growing like crazy. All those people out there that say mg soil is no good, are wrong.

I'm having trouble uploading pics, when I go to add them it just does nothing when I click on the button, any ideas? And no, I now have 1x 23w and 2x 45w.I'm using yates flower and bloom liquid fertilizer and as for soil, I dug that up out of the back garden haha. This is my first grow so it is a big learning curve for me, i'm finding it quite interesting though.

That's awesome man! Cheapest way! If you do have any issues, don't get discouraged. Just be sure to keep a close eye on your soils ph 6-6.5 for soil. 7 will work to. Good luck...

also some of the trichomes have brown tips and look kinda like theyve been singed by a lighter, wondered if this was from heat from the lights maybe? this happened quite early in the flowering stage. one of the leaves got a burnt tip but it was right up amongst the light tubes when this happened so I didn't think I have a heat problem because everything else looks fine, apart from the trichomes on afew of the bud sights, any ideas? or is this normal for the plant?

trichomes or pistils? If they were white hairs that turned orange and brown then they are pistils. They change color as they mature. Trichomes are much smaller they are the small things on the sugar leaves and buds and turn amber as the thc in them decays also normal after enough time. But Im pretty sure your talking about the pistils.

Interesting setup.

Miracle Grow will definitely grow plants in veg, but the results in bloom are garbage from my experience. It makes for horrible smoke and in the case of the most recent outdoor I had that was fed MG, it grew airy, lackluster flowers.

The genetics of your plant may simply thrive on the particular mix and I would suggest finding an organic alternative, but that's just me.

Should I be feeding nutrients more frequently now that its in flowering mode? Quite afew of the lower fan leaves are turning yellow and dropping off, I know this is normal but should I be feeding the plant more now to match the high demand for nutes?
