i just moved the seedlings under it and the others to the other side since i have three plants in there with EXTRA fat canopys right now. was shading shit too much well see how it affects the seedlings.

Gladiator doesn't have 2700k in the 15w. Inductionlamps.com, does.

btw this one bulb is WAAAAAAAY colder than my 4 23w 2700k cfl's i run on the other side of the desk one side feels like texas in summer the other feels like Hawaii in winter lol

Are you flowering on the other side with your 4 23w 2700k cfl's? How are you managing that?

yeah flowering on that side, managing just fine i mean i take em out at night and put them in a box in my closet to keep them out of the light because the desk is on 18 schedule. However the temps dont bother me right now as i know i can get them down with intake and exhaust compy fans. Im only sexing in it for the time being until i can get all the fucking seeds sexed and the fuck out of there. At which point i will be throwing a clone in it and mixing up a organic nut tea that cowboy logic uses probably going to use his medium as well in a 1 gal smart pot or custom smart pot i make and scrog that shit so i can make hash out of it and get small sample batches of smoke from it. It will probably all be water cured for the hash since i wont be smoking it mostly and the stuff that i do i can wait for since i will have a gang of hash or oil to smoke in the mean time. Although i may not make the bubble hash with water cured but because i still want the terpenes for the flavor but then again terpenes break down in water and bubble hash is made in water too but i think its got more flavor still because i dont leave it in water for like a week lol.

Temps are probably86 to90 or so on the side with cfls probably 76-80 on the side with the monster light lol. I moved the seedlings over there because i feel i get a better light footprint on the other side with the cfls because of how far spread they are i think this induction bulb needs to be higher up than it is to get its proper footprint and i cant test to see how bad it will make them stretch as i move it farther away because i got nowhere for the bulb to go.

This little box is gonna be hella fun very soon. This thread is really gonna start crackin off once i can get these fucking seedlings out and sex up my 10 black jacks then ill have space for whatever i want. Two sides flowering hahahahahaha i think im going to put this veg bulb in my big veg room and get some 15w 2700k induction bulbs POSSIBLY to try on the other side however i KNOW cfl's work tits with 4 23w for flower in an area that small i could easily pull a half o. SO i have to decide if its worth it for me to try and spend another 60 bucks to compare it for flower. I dont think i will because im NEVER going to use induction for flower since i got LED"s probably just go CFL on that side again soon once i no longer need veg time. Pop 2 clones in the desk and 2 months later we got a fat batch of hash buds. YES i cant wait for this desk to really get movin.

I can't figure out why you wanted to veg with the induction bulb you bought, when they are such good flower supplements. Some people flower exclusively with them...with good results. (I played email tag today with the vendor that sold me my bulb, I learned some things.)

I would use one 23w induction bulb on each side of your desk, but I'm not a fan of the mercury hazard of CFLs. I hate those things, can't figure out how they were ever made legal. The thought of a CFL blowing up in my grow creeps me out.

Yea i kept the CFL's cuz not enough money right now for more bulbs its gonna have to stay that way for a bit. Im having trouble with my damn light its not firing when my timer kicks on. It did the first day or two now i have to manually turn it on WTF is with that. Im probably going to send it back and have them exchange it for small ones or something.

Be sure to use a surge protector! That's what mine did before it burned out. I was told they need a second to warm up the tiny amount of mercury they use, before they fully turn on. But mine came on right away at first, too. I'm pretty sure.

My smaller induction bulbs are working like champs, so far. Plants love 'em.

problem is to get the same amount of lums with the smaller ones i have to pay 90 bucks instead of 75 -________- this is pissin me off, i shouldnt have to run a lightbulb on a surge protector lame, also lame the fact it worked fine for the first few days then didnt.... uh duh i actually do have it on a surge lol forgot. Still lame though but what the hell you know whats the difference between me turning the knob on the light socket or leaving the knob on and the timer kicking over in theory nothing i wish s1 could explain that for me.

Really not sure what i am going to do i hope i can convince these guys to just give me all my money back with out having to pay extra for shipping it back or restocking or something shit is BROKEN for my usage. AND it broke in less that 24 hours of being on. Kinda disapointed with the induction bulb. the plants like it but fuck.....

Maybe it got too hot? That's a big weakness, and why I like the smaller bulbs.

no way it got too hot man im tellin you its like 76 degrees in there lol soooooo much cooler than cfl. The bulb is shit i had to turn it on six times this morning to get it to fire. Im building a t5 fixture for my big veg room now and going back to cfl temporarily in the hash box. -_______- not happy about the cfl's but i dont have the money to throw at this box to really get good lighting its my budget box that produces some bomb but in small quantities for hash making and stuff. Also not happy about t5's in my veg room but its the best brightest option for the money because im going to build it myself instead of buy it so its not going to cost an arm and a leg for a t5 for me.

ah yes fat boy that pk was a lovely one scrawny and stretched and rootbound when i got it but nothin like a nice fat pot and some sunshine to turn things around i grew that one up a fruit tree in my back yard =)

thanks man little micro grows are fun it keeps me busy in the mean time while my big grow goes, but it gets INSANELY frustrating when you have problems with the lights in your micro grow as well as the lights in your mom cab for your big grow.... -_____- So now the eternal question is do i go buy that t-5 today in the 4 bulb or do i build it myself...... I think i like the reflector but the ballast i need is only 35 bucks, so we will see. What i can tell you is so far this company has been pretty good with their returns policy and very timely on responses to questions and things like that. I can recommend them. They will check my bulb for start up issues and if there are like i said (there is i will call bull shit if they say there isnt) they will credit me for the cost of the bulb plus the tax. Shipping is non refundable i can understand that. Im curious whos paying for shipping to the place for testing.

shit i just re read the thing on their website it says customer pays return shipping... not likin that... lets see if i can get away with not payin it or something. I just asked them about it.

Kron- Not all induction bulbs are equal quality. But they do need a ballast, same as CFLs do. The big difference between them is if you don't use a surge protector on CFLs you not only risk burning out your bulb in a surge, but the possibility of the bulb exploding and contaminating your grow area with mercury. That's a nightmare I don't want any part of.

I understand your concerns of expense, but I asked Will Phinney at inductionlamps.com about his bulbs, and he said short lived bulbs were uncommon among the ones he's sold. I got my money back from hydroponicshut.com, and they were good about it, but I haven't given up on induction bulbs. I'm going to see how the smaller bulbs do, then consider moving up. Plants do love the light.

i havent given up on em completely either they it ran so fucking cool and put out a cunt hair more lums than my 4 cfls im runnin my shit on a surge protector i checked. But i WOULD HIGHLY NOT RECOMEND getting the big induction bulb that is screw in stick with the small ones they seem to be working my next induction purchase will probably be an actual hydro fixture. You should see the t5 i got for a 140 bucks from sun systems fucking jesus christ its bright as hell. 4 ft 4 bulb t5ho with 54w bulbs hahah so fuckin bright thats goin into the large veg cab. My large grow is fairly set lighting wise its this little micro one that is giving me problems damn im considering building a mini 12 inch t5 to replace the self ballasted spring flouros i got in there right now maybe. Not sure yet though that box options are being left open for the time being. What i need is 4 computer fans or so so i can at least cool my box for now til i can figure a dif option than cfl for it.

Its not so much the expense that bothers me because the bulb i had if i had had 3 of em would have covered my veg room tits without the t5 but the issue is i need absolute reliability out of my larger scale grow thats the money maker/money saver and if it goes belly up the whole thing does so i couldnt afford to experiment with 3 bulbs like the one i had when the one i had was already givin me problems. went tried and true, when i got some more expendable cash again ill probably upgrade to the smaller induction bulbs but foer now its gotta be cfl.

The guys at gladiator are super cool they are paying for my shippin to the test place because i ran every test they are going to run already lol. Hes prety confident my bulb took a shit.

Good to know the Gladiator guys are cool. That goes a long way. Their prices are a little higher than the outfit I use, but who knows if the bulbs are equal...or what? The jury's still out on induction bulb durability...at least as far as I'm concerned. If they live-up to the hype, they are definitely hard to beat. So far, I'm digging the smaller ones.

I was looking at the horticulture light at inductionlamps.com, but I'm going to hold-off for now.

ha i couldnt find the horti light on induction ahhah they didnt have it. Fuck man probably never im gonna have to sneak one and hes hasn't even let me over there in a while starting to bug me but i dont have a car to just stop by or i would... foo has to pick me up to go over there so fuckin frustrating i must say. Guy at gladiator said i was the first in a year to have one go out so..... who knows if it was salesman or not....
