I wish I could but I can't afford to build it yet. I don't have a monitor and can't buy one and the laptop that was going in it is gone.

On top of that I have to find a way to come up with money for new seeds and some avid or floramite that's $200 a quart just to kill these super spider mites I have before I can even grow again.

I could have it where you put in a coin and the screen goes clear to where you can see inside it. There is that technology avaialble if I had the cash.

That'd be cool.

hey quick question...those 42watt cfl``s u were talking about. what spectrum are they and where did u find them. i can only find the 42 watt ones in a lower spectrum but i need 6500k
the only 42 or 45 watt cfls i can find are 2700k and i need something bigger than a few 26w 6500k for my growing... well maybe not, i would still like to know were to get them.
you can get he 2700k at like walmart, kmart, lowes, places like that.

yo what did you use to screw the cfls into...i got the little unit thing that is identicle to a y socket but with one screw in instead of two...so basicly it plugs the bulb into the unit and the unit plugs right into the extension chord...are those safe? or should i go and buy a lamp and dismantle it...i dont neeed to do that right cause the cfls have there own ballast? any help would be appreciated

Sorry didn't mean to ignore the cfl question. But I'm not the guy to ask because I will direct you to the $25 150w hps from econolight. Buying cfl's in the United States makes no sense because of that deal. It throws 15k lumens, more than a hanfull of those 42w bulbs (which I hated, they suck) I relegated them to clone duty and already see that one is half as bright as the other after only 4-5 months of use.

Don't buy cfl's when you can get those hps's that cheap.

Two of the 150w HPS's are what's going in the flower portion of this cab when and if it's ever done.

how much are they paying you to shove that shit down peoples throtes every time you can?

ive seen the light sockets your talkin about in a few different grows were people just get a power strip and fill it with those. i myself went for the lamps that have the clamp and the little hood on them for the cfls. works great.

Everyone that says all this stuff about can't handle the heat or can't manage the electricity doesn't have a clue in hell of what they are talking about. :wall:

Running 150w of hps is the same electric wise as running 150w of anything else. It's 150 watts dude... (well maybe as much as 180 with ballast losses included) Except HPS is more efficient. HPS gives MORE lumens per watt, therefore less watts are going to producing heat compared to any other light, and works out roughly the same heat wise.

More efficient, more lumens per watt... That means a smaller electric bill than trying to generate the same lumens with other less efficient lights.

Physics 101...

lol... that has nothing to do with physics... what the fuck are you talking about?

150 watts is 150 watts man. if you have 2 lamps with 150w output thats not 300 watts output, its 150w worth of light over a larger area. i get were your coming from but have you used them befor? can i see a grow youve done with those lights? can i see any grow done with those lights?

No you don't understand electricity. We are not talking lumens here and the debate about whether those add up. Watts add. Period. End of story.
Two 150w lights = 300w combined draw. (plus a bit for ballast losses)

It really is that simple.

As far as pictures of grows with 150w lights... Where have you been lately? There have been a ton of posts. Try the 150w inspiriational thread. Or look at that recent 150w mini fridge grow that just completed.

You can search as well as I can for them.

Sure. Enjoy.

Damn I wish I could have finished mine. :wall:

Well here are pictures of the empty cab as it stands now, so at least you can get an idea of the size of the grow that will be in it. The bottom flower area has an inside dimensions of 32" deep, 22" wide, and 42" tall. Then the upper veg area inside dimensions are 18" tall x 22"wide x 22" deep. (and angled at the top)

Computer would fit above the veg area where the marquee is, as well as fans and carbon filter. I didn't count that space. And the monitor etc will take no room away.

Overall it's nearly 6' tall.

Lots of room in there...

I'm sorry dude. I get really impatient on this subject of those lights. They're a steal, they're great, no problems, everyone that has bought one has loved it and not one complaint yet anywhere.

The problem is each person seems to want a hundred words explaining everything over and over and over again. This stuff is all in every post about those lights all you have to do is read them and save me from having to explain it yet again for the umpteenth time.
