Starting from clone AND seed, timing help.

Hello all,
So I only have one main tent and I use monster cropping (cloning from flower) along with careful timing and a very SMALL clone propegator under a few CFLs to get myself a continual grow going with only having one tent. I may have to wait a half a month more between harvests, but this method works well and I like only needing one tent. So basically I start rooting my clones a month or so before harvest, they usually take about three weeks, then I transfer to solo cups for a week in the clone propagator, harvest what's in the main tent then stick the cloned rooted newbies in there and start over.

However I got some free citrix seeds (Grapefruit x LA confidential) from a friend and I want to run a citrix plant this time as well. So now I am in the scenario where I'm starting plants from seed AND clone, which I know will grow at different rates. (the seed started plant will grow slower) so I need to time this right to keep plant sizes both from clone and the seedling the same size. I'm not sure when to start popping this citrix seed in comparison to the clones. Should I wait until they root or get going right after I take the clones so the seed has time to catch up? I have a month til I'll be harvesting and starting again, and I just took clones a couple days ago, so they will be rooted and growing again in 2 and a half to 3 weeks (takes a bit longer to root than normal from flowing plants).

Has anybody done this before that has advice on when is the best time to start this seed going? Should I do it now so it has time to catch up to the clones size/ growth potential when they root, or should I wait a bit? I want them to be the same size when I finally stick them in the tent.

I'm trying to find some other opinions on this and coming up with only one link. Maybe there's variation by strain? I planted four seeds and took eight clones this grow. Only three of the seeds popped. Initially, all three plants from seed were ahead of the clones. One plant from seed went into a slump because I didn't bump it up soon enough and it started showing deficiencies so it's a little smaller than the clone plants now. But the other two plants from seed are definitely ahead of the clones.

Another variable here is that the seeds are desendants of the clones crossed with a sibling of the clones that was probably the best plant I ever grew and I didn't clone it and was unable to get a cut off of it trying reveg.

Yeah its kind of an untalked about topic, but I'm sure a lot of people have done it. This is very helpful though, the two weeks ahead of time seed. I think I'll plan for now (unless I get some more varying opinions) that I will pop the seed in a week and a half or so. That way hopefully they will grow to be equal size. thanks!
