so i promised a big update earlier on.
so whats new?
=> harvest from box 1 is done at 441.3 g total - dry ofc (the chronics where below avg, the sweet tooth #4 above avg) leading to a bit above 1 gpw in total.
=> pic of the last 2 plants. that are by now already cut down and died, currently cleaning that box. you see my new adjust a wing
=> flower box 2 is here
=> clone/mother room is done
=> diy electricity shelf is done
=>storage shelf mixup for exaust fan
specs for the stuff i got done:
=> clone/mothers
cutting lights: (

GHE Cutting Board (self made colars/inserts cut from a camping mat)
Mothers: diy Dwc (mini)
Mother lights: 200w elektrox cfl for flowering
1x Clip on Fan (hurricane)
1x Exaust fan (from the local grow shop) - still need to screw this tight)
1x thermometer/hygrometer combo thing inside
1x external temp sensor
=>flower cab 1:
homebox 1x1meter
400w hps with a adjust a wing (changed from ct)
2x hurricane clip on fans
exaust without carbon active (as the room got 1 that filters all air leaving)
flower cab 2:
homebox 80x80 cm
400w hps with a cooltube, as its only 1.60 m high instead of 2m like the standard homebodies)
2x hurricane clip on fans
exaust without carbon active (as the room got 1 that filters all air leaving
energy shelf:
cheap but durable shelf from a local store
a lot of wiring, timers,….
got space to hold ballasts, checked for heat issues, there are none at the moment.
storage shelf:
increased size by adding parts from another shelf of the same model. now holds my fan. makes less noise now.
its awsome
plans:
=>i also do have a new updated price calculation, based on the new power consumption + maintenance cost + updated fertilizer cost,
=>i still have a big todo list at hand.
=>changed my planning from running on a harvest per month model using 2 setups running with delay for flowering to 3 boxes to run strains that
flower 9 weeks instead of 6. calculations got much easier. 9 weeks / 3 chambers => harvest every 3 weeks
todo:
1)get the ceiling done finally. i have most of the parts. i just couldn't be arced to assamble it.
=>my plans chained from a self flowing system to a system that has the exaust/intake fan on all all time to one where
all the boxes exaust ducts go directly into the ceiling. requiring the fans to be up 24/7. on the other side of the hand. its more controllable
and may lead to less trouble
2)get the hydro systems done
=> i have benchmarked / calculated / given a few hydro systems some good thinking. i am just going pure rockwool cubes 4x4 inch.
with a recirc. drip system that is pump based. the maintence/risk ratio seems to be the best. it seems the least likely to flood the room.
and is easy to use (need this for flower box 1+2+3 and veg room)
3)get the veg room done.
=>i am still arguing with myself about 400w mh or 250w mh for veg, as plants in flower use twice as much light as the ones in veg.
so going lower could mean i waste less energy, but as i am not aware of any benchmarks, that may be a sucker.
=>should be a homebox clonebox view, as plants in veg also don't need that much light.
=> still insecure on what reflector to use.
=>exaust specs? all calcs i know are based on having a carbon coal filter in there. well i don't need one.
4) get the last flower room up
=>2x 600w hps
=>homebox xxl
=>proper exaust fan
=>adjust a wing reflectors
5) solve problems that occur mid summer, in case it gets too hot.
=> currently considering different types of cooler ideas
6) finish my diy growroom monitor. got a lot of probes already around. using 1wire technology and mapping it into the file system on linux.
=>got the web ui mostly done by now (this is only for logging/grow diary purposes. i am not intending to do automation, after doing some research.
i like to have the human factor in the thing)
7) enter planning phase again, re-think current solutions, optimize
feedback/discussion:
=> give me some input / comments, will you?
edit:
Here's some quick numbers on estimated power consumption:
