stable genetics

What companies and/or strains are the most solid in your opinion?

So far id say DNA seems to be the most stable, and I like RP's sour but their Purple Purple Wreck while good has quite a range of phenos, ive had plants purple from day one to completely light green plants.

Next Generation isnt bad with uniformity (romulan diesel) but I had one mother giving me herm clones, not ecstatic about that.

I recently grabbed

Sensi (nl5 x haze)
Ograskal (white s1, fire alien romulan)
Connoisseur Genetics (og chem haze)
RP (RKS)
DNA (Sour secret)
NextGen (bc golden skunk)
Jordan (bc god bud)
Soma (nyc diesel)
Cali connection (trust me I hear all the drama but on youtube people's tahoe looks really good so I grabbed it and chemdawg 91 sk va)

So im ready to see what companies I really like but I want to find what everyone else things. Please no biased opinions or defamation of companies for personal interests.

out of that list Jordan's god bud is where I'd go but the nyc diesel is tempting just pricey but even if money wasn't a factor I'd do the god bud I've just heard so much good about it that I'm grabbing some my next order not the knock-offs that cost more either fucking bcbd lol, Really depends what you want, you looking to make money? you wan't some of the best? do you care about yield/flower times? do you want some tasty ass shit? and what flavors would you prefer?

your not gonna find all that much in uniformity all plants seem to be a little different even Skunk#1 just look into the breeding what are the genetics does the breeder make true F1's or polly hybrids a true F1 isn't even uniform but you got strains like super silver haze, Black Widow, super skunk, etc. but with a polly it will be less uniform say you take a clone only and cross it to some other f1 they'll be all over the place but you can still find a great plant. I prefer to pay for seed that took more work myself sometimes its even cheaper like SSH guy took nl5 x haze to f4 and skunk x haze to f4 then selected the best mom and pop now something like that deserves the high price imo and its not even that high you get 18 beans a pack so its cheaper then most polly's you could even make from home.

Either way your best bet is find a plant you love and keep her as long as possible more then one of course cause the best weed in the world gets boring after a while.

check out the god bud its no joke and its only $50 for a 10 pack and its quick flowering I'm sure its pretty damn strong too otherwise I doubt I'd have heard much good about it plus its got a lot of awards too its at least worth my time to try it out. Its gotta be one of the top 5 Canada seed strains as far as popularity goes.

God bud isn't bad at all. Haven't grown it but have smoked it. I wouldn't say it's a top shelf smoke but definitely a nice smoke, some super dense buds with a really nice taste and high. I'd say it's like Big Bud but worth growing :) I plan on grabbing some Jordan Beans soonish I just dropped 300 on other stuff so I gotta chill out for a minute.

Also have seen people talking about Medman seeds. 13-seeds $40 a pack, his headband is supposed to be the shit. Gonna grab some of them too :)

Only if you can guarantee you will grow them exactly right. I think it was swerve who said something along the lines of 'if your first run is pretty good, the next will be dank' or something, but that is extremely accurate growing from seed. Anything remotely promising I usually give at least one further run, as I will have a better understanding of the needs of that particular cut. There's no grower on Earth who can buy a pack of seeds they've never grown before and grow them out immediately to their fullest possible potential. Furthermore, from my direct observation living in a med state, genetics don't mean shit compared to the skills of the grower. If it did, all these wank ass dispensaries wouldn't be forced to peddle extracts since all their flower is pathetically under-potent, particularly for OG and diesel genetics. I have personally grown out seeds from BC mids and from mexi brick that came out indistinguishable from the rest of my chronic, because I gave them the appropriate love and individual attention. If you want potent beans, there's so much info online that there's really no reason to be asking that question. You can also tell a lot by the genetics, if you are buying from a breeder who is trustworthy about their genetics.

That said, here's some tips on buying fire:
1) research before you buy, and I do NOT mean on the breeder's webpage, unless they have a worthwhile forum (Gage Green, Mr. Nice, etc.) where other unaffiliated growers can post.
2) If you want guaranteed fire, do not buy one bean of ten different strains, buy 10 beans of 1 well documented strain and keep the absolute motherfuckin' best one. Every parent can have a retard baby, the nice thing about plants is that you don't have to feel guilty about killing the kids you don't like. This way you can also feel confident that, whether you liked it or not, you got a fairly good experience of what said strain has to hold for you.
3) If you want stability, you should be buying seeds that are either worked to F3 or beyond or are bred from two very similar parents. F1 seeds will produce varying phenos, and depending on selection, F2s can produce even more. The opposite can also be true; I specifically selected a male Road Kill Unicorn that seemed the closest to my favorite female, and the resulting F2 beans I've popped have had two phenos from 12 beans that only differ in leaf shape, but are otherwise incredibly uniform.

That said, the most consistent purveyor of high quality genetics for me in the past few years has been bodhi (most of his crosses are F1, so they will have a good amount of variety in them; in an F1 cross you will usually get at least 1 pheno that resembles the mother, 1 that resembles the father, 1 that is a combination of the two parents, and then there will be more infrequently found phenotypes that represent the recessive genetics of both parents), followed by Sannies (although there is usually a bit more selection involved to find absolute top shelf dank, the uniformity is very good on his worked lines) but there's no beans from them on that list. I'm very interested in DNA's Sour Secret, as I think that the LA Affy and the Deez would be a great combo, to help kind of balance out the negative aspects of each parent. DNA has done some really solid work in the past, but I've heard some mixed things on some of their newer stuff, mainly relating to their OG variations. I'm also keen on JOTI, as I like the smaller breeders and have heard plenty of good things, although I have yet to grow their seeds yet myself. I'd love to do Soma's NYCD, but honestly I prefer the more diesel-y diesels and the price is slightly off putting when there are at least five or six breeders I can get top notch dank from for much less money. As far as that Tahoe goes, if you grabbed the femmes, that's just an S1 of the Tahoe cut, which you'd really have to fuck up on the intersexing process or something to go wrong with that. That's the nice thing about feminized seeds is that it is much, much easier to pick a quality female than a quality male.

As a last note, price is no indication of quality in this game. I can think of a couple different places you can spend $100+ on beans that are no better (and often slightly worse) than beans that cost between $30-$70. That's the nice thing about the smaller breeders, if its just two or three people in the whole operation (and they don't need to fly to Europe constantly on your dime) they can charge substantially less for beans that are incredibly high quality.

HeadieNugz, Ive been growing bag seed up until last year. So I haven't tried out a lot of companies, you may have your gripes with DNA whatever but ive popped 6 LA Cons and all of them were short thick indicas, the only variation was one got a purple tinge at the end. And even the RP sour, 4 beans very slight variations in the phenos, all quite uniform.

What is your experience with DNA and what companies do you trust? Rather than being condescending why not be informative like everyone else in the topic?

Also potency is my main concern, ill check out sannies too, never heard of them.

"the nice thing about plants is that you don't have to feel guilty about killing the kids you don't like" Guilty as charged! I thankyou for taking the time to post that so I could discern some clarity in the circus nowadays that is online genetics. Idc if your negative or an asshole as long as your info is solid i'll take what I need and leave the rest!

God Bud is a nice smoke but it's too heavy for my tastes. If you like Indicas a lot it's a good choice. The NLxHaze I ran - only 10 seeds and 4 females - was pretty variable in phenotype. Came from MNS but it should be essentially the same I think. Nice buzz, didn't find a winner plant though. Would have to go on a hunt to find a real keeper but I think it would be a worthy adventure.

I should note the only God Bud I've ever had was clone only and a known winner. It might not be as good from seed and might require a lot of selection - I have no clue about that.

I'd probably run the NLxHaze of all those because I like Haze highs. Tahoe would probably come second because I wanna see what the deal is.

Should also add I still have the NL Haze moms and a buddy is going to run them again because it's like what was already mentioned - the first time is never the best time. The buzz was enjoyable, just needed to consume a lot to get there.

Damn that is kind of disappointing to hear nl5xhaze isnt as strong as id like but who knows how it'll turn out or if ill get lucky and find a more potent pheno.

Have you guys heard much about UBC chemo? And if Jordan's version lives up to the hype?

From what I can tell, nothing available in seed form, is really very good. That's how it was over a decade ago, and doesn't seem to have actually changed much. Your best bet, is to get a clone from someone, that you have already smoked and know you like...

That's ridiculous Vincent. Where do you think the clones came from? If you wanted to say most strains don't live up to the advertising, well, that's a different issue. Most people also don't run 30-40 females which is really the bare minimum to find truly great plants - that are suited to your exact tastes - out of any line.
