Hey growers, I have St. johns wort growing in my front yard. I decided since I have been feeling a bit down lately I would give the herb a shot. Does anyone know any tried and true methods of dosing this stuff? I heard you can make tea from the fresh leaves (dont have to dry it) but I'm not sure about that. Any advice/shared experiences would be greatly appreciated

Yes. St. John wart gets little yellow flowers.
Its uses are many but its most known for its calming properties with nervous individuals...neuritis, neuosis, sleeplessness and nervous debility. It can also be used for hysterics and sleep walking.

Its oil soothes pain and has anti-inflammatory properties.
Many people use it for mild to moderate depression but it CANNOT be used with any antidepressant drugs as they do not mix well at all.

Its a very versatile herb and it quite pretty too.
