when is the trimming party?
6 to 8 weeks from now.. i got the trimmers, bowls, and buds.. just bring yourself and any buds you may want to share!! shouldn't be too bad... its only 9 plants.. and hopefully they all fill in like i think they will and i'll just have a bucnha colas... your welcome to join! bongsmilie

they look really good SS. thanks for the advice too , cause i wouldve ordered the basic 1 and thought that i could have just swtiched my og cords, and i d have probably fryed my ballasts , ill order that 1 that uses the 110 cords, thanks again for such comprehensive answers.... ur the man. shit looks good bro, lush and big and green , and buds filling out. goood shit. im gearing up to have 78 brother. maybe like 30 in veg 40 in bud.. hmm

not a problem bro.. im glad to help ya out.. it took me some reading.. and re-reading.. and re-re-reading to understand for sure what they meant...

thanks for the compliments bro.. i've been really happy with what i've seen so far... definitely will be a nice harvest... i REALLY hope it ends up being close to 3 pounds... 3 x 16 is 48 ounces... 48 ounces divided by 9 plants is a little over 5 ounces per plant... sooo... i think it might be a stretch.. but its a way to early to know for sure... gotta wait a few more weeks to see how things turn out to know for sure..

i was just looking through some old pics of my last grow... comparing sizes and such.. and to be honest these arent far behind where my last grow was at 5 to 6 weeks... id say right now at week 3.5 i am about where i was at week 4.5 on the last grow.. so i am either getting to the finish line faster or just putting on more general weight... i hope its a mix of the two.. with a heavy emphasis on the weight...

Howdy SS420, Nice looking buds! I am so envious! I have been very busy with my soil-to-aero grow. I finally got a TDS meter, and a Ph meter, and I'm just getting used to them. I picked up a new agrosun bulb for my 430 HPS ballast and reflector. This bulb has an increased blue and red spectrum, and my local hydro guy said he had very good results using this as a vegging bulb. I know everybody prefers MH for veg, but I got a killer deal(barter) on the 3 HPS ballasts(2x1000 and 1x430) and reflectors, so I'm going to run with it. Now, I just need to tweak my grow lab(8x8x10) and hang the extra light.
I had to harvest my outdoor girls, as the MJ detection planes have really been working overtime, and operation H.E.M.P.(help eliminate marijuana production) is in full swing. I almost lost my whole crop to those creeps last year. Well, finding them, my outdoor girls, was a real chore. I kind of kept a half-assed pirate map in my head, and spent a few worriesome hours searching for the treasure. But, lo and behold, I literally tripped over my biggest girl, hidden deep in my favorite local farmers field. I found all but 1, and I think that was eaten by deer, as there were big hoove prints throughout the field. Unsure of my yield yet, but I am pleased with buds, Paralyser, stinky as a roadkill on a hot summer afternoon, and frosted with a nice coat of trichs.:eyesmoke: I can't wait to sample it! I spent last night trimming and hanging buds to dry, and my fingers were sticky like I ate pancakes without any silverware.
My new clones are almost ready to go to the next level, sweet root production, and I purchased everything I need to make a new aero-tote to veg them, I just need to put it together. I've got alot to do. I just hope my back holds up, as its been kicking my ass on a daily basis lately. I've taken some pictures and plan to post them and further chronicle my grow on my thread later this weekend. I'll let you know when I get it all posted if you want to check it out. Thanks again, for all of the advice you gave me, as it truly saved my bacon. I did get a small batch of special cocoa krispies treats made this week. I plan to bust them out, during football on Sunday. They look a little like soylent green, but I am excited about trying something new.:joint: Keep up the good work, your super lemon haze, looks very interesting. Hopefully, your budding process will be blessed with intense weight gain, like when doctor Nick suggested Homer use pop-tarts instead of bread, during the Homer works from home episode!:peace:

damn bro.. sounds like you have been busy...

i've always wanted to do some outdoors.. but never had the place to do it.. around here the corn fields get scoured for pot plants but local pirates and law enforcement.... in fact something like 480 plants were found about 3 weeks after the outdoor season started... it was every 8th row between every 5 corns... something like that.. had a drip irrigation system ran and everything.. i think it was the farmer.. but there is no way to tell...

if i went with other brands of ballasts and reflectors i could save so much money... but im stuck in my ways.. and i always get a good deal.. at least 10% off the total bill.. most of the time if you make friendly with your local hydro store they will treat you well... everytime they see you it means money to them... its a win win situation...

everyday there is considerable weight added on to the girls... in a couple days i am going to have to start tieing them to support their own weight... in my flower room, once i have it set up, i plan on running something across the room, like pvc pipes or something similar, with little eye hooks in them so i can support the buds to something fairly easily.. its a pain trying to tie them off to the lights....

i increased the flooding to 4 times a day for 15 minutes... well went back to 4 times a day i should say.. i've noticed a lot more growth the last few days since i added the extra water cycle in.. so i think i'll stick with it.. the girls seem to like it...

Thats crazy about the corn growing. I live in a very rural area with lots of corn. I believe your are talking about your the lifetime value of you in relation to the hydroshop. I would bet if you have spent enough money in there they would take a loss for you if they knew you would come back the next time. Basic marketing principles, sometimes you can make it work for you.

the corn grows are nuts around here... a few very large grows for sure.. theres a lot of surrounding farm area for guerilla growers to utilize...

i think that hydro stores are really good about discounts and shit also because most transactions are in cash.. at least i know anytime i purchase anything i use cash.. and typically its a few hundreds to a few thousand dollars im dropping at a time... gotta love it either way!!

Howdy SS420, I guess I'm lucky too. If I show my MMMP card at my local hydro store, the owner gives me a 10% discount. The local head-shop even offered to knock $50.00 off the cost of a vaporizer if I use my MMMP card. I've had to put up a bit of an investment to grow aeroponic, but I bartered for some equipment, and built my own aeroponics systems to save $. I'm beginning to see some AMAZING results. As soon as I get my pictures cropped and sized, I'll be posting some spectacular results documenting my soil-to-aero transfers progress, as well as my first ever, aero-clones progress into a fresh built aero-vegging unit. I'm so confident now:eyesmoke:, that I plan on taking another batch of clones from my veg girls before they go to the flowering chamber.
Top that off with some special rice krispie treats, thanks to a recipe shared by SS420:peace:, and today was a very hip trip, loaded with lots of profootball, and lots of buds, GO BEARS! The afternoon of football viewing soon turned into a new 2009 harvest MJ tasting party, with 3 different strains: Paralyser, Pearl, and Blackjack. After careful consideration, I think a little more testing is required.:joint: And a cold pepsi too!

glad the switch has done ya good... i have loved the switch thus far... it is an investment... and a few kinks to work out.. but once you find your "swing" its so easy and fun...

well system wise i need to think. i got 3 clones in to a 5gal bucket/bubbleponics system. bascically 3 in net pots with the ''roseman '' technique. pump feeding a manifold drip, with 2 feeder tubes direct to inside of the netpots. also 2 airstones and for real air pump from hydrofarm. i figured these 3 clones would surpass the growth on my 1footers that have been rooted for weeks in soil . i have enough shit to set up a second bucket for 3 more clones. within 10 hours of sleep , roots on 2/3 are busting out the bottom of the netpots and hydroton. they seem to love this system.
the catch is with 3 per bucket theyll easyly outgrow this system. so i can either build 6 buckets, but that 6 pumps, 12 airstones, 3 more hydrofarm air pumps, 6 manifolds...etc. if i do this ill have 6 bubbponics buckets with 1 net pot ea, for the flower room, and two 3 site veg buckets for the veg side. the problem with this would be draining would be tedious once a week. that or as im thinking i can move them from these awesome 3 site veg buckets into a completley different hydro system dyi, or bought, for the flower room. i was thinking a 3x3 or 4x4 tray and rez , ebb, and flo would be easy. but with my existing netpots and roots gonna flow right out the bottom, trying to find an appropriate system to transplant them into for flower is messing with me. id build some totes, with more sites, but i think they get so big that theyll just out shade themselves in a rubbermaid tote footprint. if i go ebb and flow, how would i get these 3'' netpots and roots into a system of such? throw some ideas guys

the hardest thing about hydro.. at least i think.. is finding a way to move them over to their new home when you go from veg to flowering... unless you set up 6 individual ones that you can more, or set up a system with drain buckets (2 bucket system similar to mine) then i dont know... unless you run them just for auto flower plants.. and just have some autos in both rooms... as far as draining goes just set up a drain plug at the bottom of the buckets and pull to drain... and replace to fill... obviously the fewer buckets you have the less work.. but its not that much work really... well you have dirt grows too.. so that does add extra work... although, if you set up a drain to waste system then you just have to run a drain tube to somewhere and then top the reservoir off occasionally... might work for ya?? am i getting warmer to an answer or should i keep shooting out ideas??

thanks bro!

yeah.. i know... i try to keep them out... but... they make their way in sometimes... bongsmilie i guess if the heat comes down ill just burn my arm or something to get rid of the tattoos.. or just dip my arm in acid... lol

i know i said i'd have pics... but i've sorta been busy most of the day.. ill try to get up there tho.. if not i will tomorrow...
Howdy SS420, Yes, I watched the whole Indy game. Peyton looks like he is on a mission to prove that Indy can win even without Dungy. Even Indy's defense is playing good. But I still have to bet on my beloved Bears. I may be the most taunted Bears fan on the planet, living here in the heart of Lions country. Lots of hating, intense at times, but as relaxing as a slow cool summer afternoon on the deck next to the grill. I'd love to see another Bears vs. Indy Superbowl!:peace: Bears win!:eyesmoke:
I finished my divider wall, I installed it in two separate modules, as not to distrub any of my girls, and gently tied them together with wood screws. I had alot of fun. I used to be one hell of a framing carpenter before I messed up my back, and I really got into this step, of my grow lab build. I just need to hang some rock, and set the door now. I took a ton of pictures, but I've been busy. I need to do some cropping, izing, and uploading to share my grow with everyone on my thread.
I got to try out some extra fresh, frosty white pearl :joint:, courtesy of a favor returned, and I felt pretty spaced out, pretty quick. Try to concentrate, and I hear the Clash. Wild because I'm not listening to the stereo. Tastes like lilac and clover when you exhale, super light, yet packing a punch. Almost an anxious high. I think even the white noise I'm now hearing got clearer. Yep, that really works.

alright... so today is day 29... just about half way there!

i started adding some dry kool bloom to the mix.. to really start boosting them... between that and the addition of the 4th flooding.. plus the largest amount of swelling yet to come, i should have a very nice harvest.. im still shooting for 3 lbs.. but i think i am going to fall short... if the other 3 plants hadnt died.. and that damn charlie brown tree was larger.. i think i would hit it.. but i think i will have a very respectable harvest for what i have...
