You might be onto something there with the pre-stringing haa. I just pulled all my down last night and im kicking myself about with the number of branches that weren't getting any light. Mostly purple buds but the ones stuck in the canopy stayed green. Might deploy the string early on next time. Nice job looking forward to seeing how the CnC and Gorilla Zkittlez turn out
I used string on one of mine and it worked great but the downside being it's difficult to move/inspect. Alternative maybe is each plant has it's own "support structure" which it's strings are attached to?

i have most of mine attatched to the support bars in the top of my tent so the string can slide along the bars easily. its awkward but works lol

Think im dealing with root rot or pithium as the leaves have been dying but i though it was mg deficiency but have noticed the stem has rotted away.

Any ideas @coreywebster @budsahoi

Yeah it could be pythium, I have never had first hand experience with it though. Does look like that.
You can get things like pythoff but not sure how effective it is on damage to the stem like that.

yeah i kind of had a feeling thats what it is. was considering replanting it in fresh coco and planting the stem a little deeper. would some mycos help with ridding it of pythium?

Dang that sucks bro. There’s nothing you can do once it’s like that, there is no cure only inoculation (prevention). It can be something other than pythium, another fungus but pythium is usually what does that. Sorry spud.

damn i was hoping it could be fixed lol thanks bro . is it possible to take clones and for them to be healthy?
I’m not sure, since we don’t actually know what’s causing it. You can try. Keep them and their runoff isolated so they don’t spread it if they have it. I would not reuse the medium in that particular container.

I run flood and drain pots with a scrog net in veg. I usually can't move them around anyway which sucks. I was also thinking about a tomato cage and anchor it into each pot so i wouldn't have to use the net and make it easier to move the plants around. The cages are fairly bulky though

Shit man!! Iv never come across that before. Get as many clones as ya can I reckon and ditch the medium. Is that plant in the flood table?
ive heard of someones stem rotting away alright just didnt know what caused it. no that was just a DIY drip ring but the rez sat under the shelf the tent is on and it has drainage holes for the pot so i think that caused the pythium. either that or the coco was staying too wet but i dont think it was that.

ah well live and learn. im gonna put a flood table in there instead of drip ring.

took 6 clones and binned the mother. hopefully they take, havent had great luck with cloning

Hopefully they take. You should look into the areocloner or build a diy one. Since I started using the areocloner Iv had 100% success rate. When I started cloning I used the root riot cubes in a dome and would loose about 70% of the clones. So far I haven’t lost one with the areocloner. Touch wood ha

yeah was thinking of building or buying one alright. has yours a humidity dome or what? i checked my clones this morning and they were all drooping to fuck :wall: lol

I use the dome over them for the first week in the cloner. If not they droop but if left on too long they start to get black mold on them from the humidity.

I know I was given out about the price of the XStream cloner but it’s given me some results so far. Pump and parts are great quality so last a life time. Think i paid €90 for the 20 site cloner but to be fair it’s worth it and would prob cost similar going down the diy route after buying the pumps, containers and discs

mine have completely drooped so i think that was a complete fail :wall:

yeah ill probably just buy one instead of making one. ill need one when i get a keeper of CnC and a clone from you. whats your routine?

Try get a dome over them or increase the humidity in the room. Might get lucky.

I’m new enough at it but I had 100% success with that last few clone runs. I take off whatever cuts I need and put them into water. This is suppose to stops air bubbles inside the stem. After I have all the clones in water I cut 45-degree angle and then put them into a glass with rooting hormone. After they soak in the gel for a while I put them into the cloner with a light mix of grow nutrients. I used AN micro grow bloom at 1ml per litre. Stick the dome on them but leave the vent open. I spray the dome lid with water, not the clones themselves otherwise they get black rot. I put the cloner under a 24w 65k CFL on 24hrs. After a week to 10 days they should all be rooted then I put the cloner under a 300w 65k CFL until I transplant to pots. Use the Great white while transplanting and the roots will explode.
