Springtails how to kill them ?? HELP

Hey hey,

I went to water my 3 girls that are 7 weeks old and I noticed little white bugs in the soil. I did hours of research and came to the conclusion it is ' springtails '. There isn't alot of them...yet. I looked at the roots and they look fine and I could bearly find them a second time. I know springtails are harmless and if anything can help slightly however I do not want any bugs in my soil or plants or anywhere. I want to seek advice on your opinion of a good home remedy. I was thinking about hydrogen peroxide mix with water and flushing the soil and rinse and repeat with clean pH balanced water.

I'm not sure what I did that could have caused them to form... I don't overwater and keep good temperature. The only thing I can think was my soil mixture. I did 70% ProMix soil 20% coco coir 10% perlite. I have read alot about coco eventually getting springtails. I figure that's what caused them.

Anyways, as I was saying ' hydrogen peroxide mix with water ' or coffee grounds and/or sand over top of soil.

I want them dead but not my plants so can you suggest a good method of getting rid of these little buggers ?!

But they grow into flys basically and I don't want it to get worse later.

My springtails dont grow into flies
I didnt think they did that
If yours are turning into flies then I am pretty sure you got something else
I might be wrong but I am 90% on this

Sounds like fungus gnats not springtails.

capn jacks, soap, neem oil, yellow sticky cards, a potato chunk on the top soil will bring them up for a photo and execution.

What you need to kill springtails will also kill everything else organic in your soil and grow so don't.

They are harmless unless their population spirals out of control.

Springtails are one of the few soil organisms that jump, a clear identification is easy to make if they jump when disturbed.

Anything you want to know on springtails then i would be happy to spread the info, harmless and easy to identify
