I am not 100% sure what a sports blanket looks like. I have found a good cheap reflector can be made from a car windshield reflector. You can pick them up for 3-4 bucks and cut to fit..

If its highly reflective, it will work. A sports blanket, is that one of those blankets that campers use and that emergency personnel pack to use for hypothermia? It kinda looks like a huge sheet of tin foil, right? If so, that will work GREAT as a light reflector.

If they are the "emergency" type blankets they work well. Only problem I have had with them is they seem to really mess with my camera when taking photos. Going to go with flat white paint after my grow is finished.

Id be careful with those emergency space-type blankets; they are designed to trap and hold in heat, so Id imagine they could act like an insulator, keep the heat from dissipating, and raise the temp of the room. At least I think.

They're mylar, but it's very, very thinly deposited metal on the film. Since they're designed to reflect heat, they don't have to be so thick as classical growing mylar. If you're in a bind, and have the rest of your room all reflective, but say, you want to hang a shroud around part of the room, or maybe shroud a reservoir or something, they're ok, but they're not good light block/reflect objects.

I read up on the various incarnations of mylar a long time ago and that's the basic deal, as I remember. Any errors should be attributed to me not knowing wtf i'm talking about lol.

I got a 8' x 10' polished aluminum blanket, doens't tear or wear out, works awesome at firezat.com like 60 bucks.
