u guys run ur AC on cool/heat or auto?

Ive always ran it on auto to save a bit of electricity. Its always a 8- 9 deg degree fluctuation. Ill set it at 82 and itll fluctuate from 77-86F.

On cool I tried it today and yesterday and its a max 3-4 degree fluctuation in my veg. I put it at 85F and it ranges from 82-86F.

AC on auto saves you on electricity. But is it that much of a difference worth the extra fluctuation?

Curious to what the rest of you run and why.

I run on cool, don’t want that much fluctuation. Once it reaches the desired temp the compressor shuts off even though the fan continues to run and the fan doesn’t use all that much electricity.

No, portables suck. They are terribly inefficient. A window AC or mini split is the way to go. I have a window unit mounted through the wall. Hope to upgrade to a mini split soon.

whats the difference between cool and auto?

i read that cool is the one thats always on to keep it at the desired temp but auto is the one that shuts off the compressor when the desired temp is hit.
