Spinosad question..a multitude of critters!

My leaves are getting chewed on some, some newer fan leaves grow out with half of them eaten, and I get a few holes in my leaves. I haven't seen anything, but I'd guess thrips, based on the look of some of the leaves, leafhoppers, maybe a few whiteflies.

last year I bought Spinosad for budworms. Will that work against most bugs? I'm guessing the residue on the leaves, when munched, will kill the bastards just like with budworms...ot does Spinosad have to be directly applied? Bugs must hop on and eat at night because I don't see any under the leaves in the nodes or anywhere

Yeah I am having the same issue at the moment. I sprayed with Sevin but they are still munching on a few of them. It's mostly one of my Pre98 Bubbas that is taking the abuse. I have yet to catch a bug on that plant though. :(

hehe same strain here! They must like them. I also notice flies like the skunky smell, at least they don't eat the plant. After the rain comes and goes I'll tiry Spinosad and see. If anyone has any experience with this, please weigh in

Yeah I will keep an eye on this one. I am running 2 and only the 1 is getting munched. I may have to reapply after the rains.

Anyone know if Spinosad leaves a residue that munching bugs eating it will die? Or does it need to be directly applied to insects? And is it good for most insects?

Ive git some weird little bug this appeared on one of my plants today of the 'Blue cheese' type. Its like a red/brown colored beetle but its covered over in like a thin blanket of white silky stuff. I don't know if it may not be a beetle but an egg of some sort. There was 2 on the same plant each on a separate leaf. I picked the 2 leaves off they were freaky :-/

I use crushed egg shells and old coffee grounds around my plants for the slugs. They hate coffee. I use a spray of Garlic water for all other bugs. Seems to do the Job

Hey, I have some similar sounding damage to my plant. I noticed some of the lower fan leaves are starting to look this way. I haven't noticed any damage to the higher leaves, just ones closer to the ground. Anyone know what bug this might be from?

It has been a few weeks and all the non green stuff on the fingers has crumpled off dead but the leaf itself is still healthy so I left it.

Neem as in the herb Neem? Yeh that figures I've used that on the childrens hair when they have had lice. Good for a multitude of Critters then
