The biggest reason the reccomended temp of your op is, is because after 80 degrees F, mites become a lot more active. Mites don't last long in my op. I have(among other things) vents that run from the moms 24/0hr to the 12/12hr op. My moms have never suffered mites. I use long lasting liquid raid for crawling insects and wash as far in as I can reach inside the vent tubings. Mites will not crawl onto a sticky surface but they are attracted to light when they are in darkness. I remove their cobwebs with a paint brush and use either res water or ph balanced water to blast the rest of it off my plants. I mop the floor with water and liquid raid and every so often I'll clean everything(except the plants) with a permetherane based soap(you can't buy this), to keep down mold and stuff. Never allow your plants to touch anything except the rootbase that they are growing in. If used properly two sided sticky tape can keep them from getting back on your plants. I can understand some peoples concerns about pumping up the water blaster but the difference is my shoots go in 12/12hr 1000w/hps right away so my stalks are strong enough to blast the hell out of them and they don't mind it, and also my plants are clones so they are not hollow like a seedplant. If you are afraid you might break your plant, lightly support it with your hand while spraying the mites off with pressurized water.
