Follow the calibuzz thread....you'll see my pots there. This method is one of the least effective methods, and your buds will be spicey hot, and will irritate your lungs. GUARANTEED. And the mites will still be there. I rinsed too, didn't help shit.

I just found a plant starting with webs, I have been fighting them all summer. I made the sacrifice to bag and tag her. I figure a few thousand borgs and there eggs are worth more than anyone smoking that mite infested bud or spreading them around some more.it was really hard to chop and throw away a QP of bud. But sometimes you have to do it.

consensus SHOULD be the idea that there are a lot of things you can spray but what it comes down to is how diligent you are, the tools like mighty wash and an atomizer give you a great advantage . save the peppers for cooking, There are plenty safe more affective treatments than that. And I'm done with these "help I have mites" threads .
I've stated my opinion many many times, get a fucking paint sprayer a jug of mighty wash or be a cheap fuck and spray just water. with that paint sprayer and a little dedication you'll control the problem at the very least.

Quantum Apocalypse. It is a must have in your room. The #1 thing to have. Use up to a week before harvest. I use it only as a preventive measure. Pure organics. I can not say enough about this product.

It is $50. Lasts a long time. Makes like 8-10 gallons of spray. I make a liters worth in a spray bottle whenever I need it. I have never come across a product as great as this for our plants. Period. Try it once and you'll see what I mean. The plants love it too. They pray most of the time after applications. It seems expensive up front but it breaks down to almost nothing when you use right. It is worth every penny.

WATER IS THE BEST NATURAL THING TO USE ON MITES.. that pepper shit will kill you if you not careful , need to boil and strain the peppers very thoroughly..if it is possible take the plant and soak it in the tub for a few minutes at a time this will kill every bug you have. let her dry out and put her back under the light.. or take it outside and spay the underside of the plant with the water hose.. using any chemicals in flower will result in a shitty taste and smell.

WATER IS THE BEST NATURAL THING TO USE ON MITES..
I concur.. often when people think it is neem (or other) reducing the mites, it is actually just because they are drowning/killing them regardless of the neem.

Neem is fine, I have had about exactly the same results using plain water.. if I am well into bud I use a bit of ISO alcohol in the water to act as a drying agent, then hit them with a blow dryer (set on cold) real quick to knock off any standing water...

I've always had great results with almost all insect problems using Monterey with spinosad. It's easy to mix and easy to spray. Ive just used it recently to combat budworms and after spraying 3x, 3 to 5 days apart budworms have almost vanished, and i dont know why but i havent even seen any more eggs. Just my experience.

I had bought the peppers but I have not prepared or used them yet, which now I will not. I'm going to go with a quick vacuum with the shop vac, then I'm going to spray water all over them to drown them. I can even use an air compressor on low to blow off most of the water so mold won't become a problem in the flowers. I like the water idea the best, especially since I'm so close to harvest. If I vacuum, water spray, and dry them each day I hope I'll be as close to spider mite free as one can be.

Thanks again for all the advice.

fog master jr plus 5 gallons of mighty wash. five gallon pail is makes the price of might wash not so bad. play with dial on fog master untill it actually shoots mist out well. took me a couple weeks to figure out that it needs to be turned all the way that would look like off. spray every day for a week or two depending on how well you spray. i like getting tvyek suits, respirators, and goggles of amazon to not feel tingly after wards. i went from spider webs to leafs with out any big mamas crawlin around making babies. i think having healthy plants helps plants fight bugs. When I was making dr heisenburgs tea every week i didnt have any break outs of mites. I also had less branches snapping on me. I guess its back to makin the poop soup for me or at least my garden.

Probiotics for Plants
Simply stated, a healthy plant can defend itself against insects and powdery mildew. Unhealthy plants can’t. Sure you might get a spider mite or two but a healthy plant will not get an infestation. In biology, spider mites and the like are there to take out the sick plants so they won’t go to seed and interfere with future plant genetics. Use Z[SUP]7[/SUP] and its new technology to make your plants healthy and your other problems will go away! We promise.

Thanks for the responses everyone, I just read a post by calibuzz in the BUG problem section talking about using a habanera pepper solution and I think I will try that today. I was more concerned as to whether I should even try to deal with the problem at this point since the plant is so close to harvest. But, if this habanera pepper solution is all natural, no chemicals, and somewhat effective, I figure it's worth a try.

Ordering products from the internet isn't going to work for me either. I'm in Canada and by the time the mail arrives it will be at least 3 or 4 days from now, at which point I'll probably only be a few days from harvest so no time to apply and wait for results by then... especially if some sort of flushing is required after application.

If anyone has any further input I'm very interested but as for now, I'm off to the market to get some peppers!

Thanks

Hi there...we are suffering the same problems and i am going to pull mine tomorrow... I also made the Habanero mist and it did actually work pretty well but i was hesitant to do another so i used water and hoped it would dilute any spicy oils from the chillies ...i tasted one of the small buds i had sprayed and it was fine ... but it wasn't before the water misting.. so it does help to be gentle with this stuff .

i have also used a spray of raw milk and filtered water for mold and it worked ... i think they are fine for the moment... but i would like to know what happens when you wash them, do you damage the tricomes?...

I have been misting them just before the sun hits them, they are dry by the time the light falls on them and dry fast as we have quite some windy days right now...they are huge .. in full bloom , the mites did some damage for sure to the lower branches..it was so fast...i look at them all day long.. i had no idea there were no webs ..they flew in the wind and feasted...agh!`

so ..i'll be open for suggestions...i just was lucky...there is no way for me to isolate any of them..i am in a flat 2 stories high in Amsterdam and they live on my balcony.. we have carpets...and a rabbit...and kids...and i have all this crazy hair...i even wear it under a bathing cap but its useless... so all i can do is my best...i'll let ya all know how it ends. xoxo bl8ant there are some photos somewhere lolPhoto on 29-09-13 at 09.41.jpg

so i am too late for this post, and i misted them with my own weakened mixture of the habanero pepper spray and a little milk and it certainly worked but can i wash the taste away? i only did it once and i tasted a tiny bud and it was ok .. it was really a mist i used under the leaves, it did burn my nose for awhile, i have to say lol... but it worked...i know it's useless to say that....they are too small to get rid of...so now i ask when i cut the branches , can i wash them in anything that will neutralize the chillies...just in case? ...i really hope i didn't mess them up :o

continue flushing ,use mightywash and then rinse, 3 days after first app. then scope to see if you have any walkers .if so spay in 3 days again. when you get all the crawlers spray every five days. you must use a pump sprayer for proper coverage. never failed for me. GOOD LUCK.
