Best is to prevent them in the first place, if you know they may be an issue in your grow you can spray your plants with neem oil or similar just before they take off budding.

the very best is have plants that are as healthy as possible, spider mites will leave them alone

Wrong. Spider mites will go after healthy plants. Where did you come up with the idea that they'll leave healthy plants alone?

Hello, so I have a plant that is in its second week of flowering and totally infested with spider mites. Can it be saved and how?

AND That plant has contaminated 2 Mexican Airlines Autos that are 2 weeks to harvest. The infestation on these 2 is just starting: small spider webs upon close examination. In terms of advanced pesticides I only have neem oil available, but dont even know if I should apply it on these 2 as they are 2 weeks to harvest.
What can I do? Should I cut them now? Could I lose the entire harvest? Should I let them go and the mites wont have enough time to ruin the harvest in 2 weeks?
What what what?!!!

The plants have darkened pistils 80% and 10% amber trichomes 80% milky, 10% clear.

Yes citric acid will kill mites. It's not bro science. Citric acid is the active ingredient in both Nuke Em and Dr Zymes.
And Green Cleaner too.

OP, when you hang those plants the leftover mites are going to crawl to the very top of the stems. Be on the lookout for them or they'll be all over you're dry lines. You can hit the stems with alcohol or light em up and burn their asses with a torch.

from brix and from personal experience outside in my garden. I can have a unhealthy plant coated in mites near a healthy plant they can not touch the healthy plant, so it seems. Why are not all plants coated in mites outside?

spider mites should be the easiest to keep off plants, just by keeping them healthy

Could you heat your space to 95f for an hour? Spider mites die in high temps.
Heat treatments have been reported as an effective technique at killing broadmites but I dont think its as effective on two-spotted spider mites.

Pest pressure is lower in high brix plants but if there's an infestation, they will definitely go after ALL plants. Sick plants just get hit harder.

I read it wrong , ok I'd just wait a week or so and hang them like someone said . They'll just run off the plant . If you ever have russet mites , lol way different game . I use the Swirskii's even after harvest throw a pk in the bag after trimmed and the predator mites will eat until there's nothing left of them and then die and whither away quickly . :) Just a heads up .

Would a citric acid spray cure/kill mites. Or is that Bro Science?
I got rid of my recent spider mite infestation with only citric acid. I used a high dose-3 teaspoons per liter, treated every other day for 10 days. I saturated tops/bottoms of every single leaf, branch, etc. I also sprayed the top of the soil, sides/bottoms of the pots. I cleaned my trays, sprayed and wiped down every inch of the tents. You can't miss any spots where they might hide. I also flushed out the soil with 5 ml neem/liter because saturating the entire pot with citric acid solution would kill the plants. You should know, I did get some leaf damage from the high dosage-10-20%-but they recovered within a week. I think 2 tsp per gallon would work and result in less leaf damage, but the higher dosage slaughtered them. Even after this treatment, it's smart to spray with neem weekly until buds start to form (5 ml per liter, plus silica if you have it, and a few drops of detergent or yucca extract to break surface tension.) Good luck! I like the idea of adding predatory mites during flower, but you need to have them fedex'd overnight in the winter for them to survive.

Healthy plants can and do get attacked by mites and other insects. That's a fact regardless of some youtube video.

If you only got a little bit of time left dawn blue dishsoap or citric acid or both together. Smell nice at least and will kill them. Going to have to spray with some power, take to shower if you can, wrap pot in bag. Turn upside down as well and disrupt with water and then soap down. Gotta get webs out of there. Babies in there! Try to be gentle but they hold on to so cant be too gentle. Chili powder rosemary lilock whole bunch of things irritate them, baking soda but too gritty this late same with de imo.think ld try dawn and a shower. Most gentle first. Harsher as time progresses if not knocked back. Hope this helps.

I'd make a solution of 2.5 tsp citric acid to a quart of water and spray those plants with the lights off. Then use a fan to dry them off. That will kill the mites and not leave a nasty oily residue or some toxin on your plants. Then do a good thorough bud wash after harvest.
