Spider Mites! Help!

Just wanted to report my progress with the All Seasons Oil Spray (petroleum) from Bonide. I just sprayed for the 3rd time last night and I've been treating every 3 days for Broad Mites. The first time I sprayed I saw 10 mites. The second time I sprayed I saw 1 mite, and the 3rd time I sprayed I didn't see any mites. I'll be treating 2 more times just to be safe, but there's a good chance they're gone already. If they're not, they will be shortly.
A small bottle of concentrate only cost $13 and it makes 12 gallons. It not only kills the adults and larvae, it also kills the eggs, it's the only thing that does. And since it suffocates the adults & larvae, mites can't become immune to it. It's also natural, can be used up until harvest day, and it makes your leaves soft as a babie's bottom. Plus, most importantly, it works.
If you treat with this stuff every 3 days you should be done with them in no time. But if you have a bad infestation, I suggest using multiple methods including this one & humidity (if they're spider mites), along with others.

Hey everyone!! Just wanted to update on my girls. The 5 flowering plants that had mites (which I successfully got rid of with no pest strips) ended up yielding 5 and a half ounces! Not too bad considering they were living with mites their whole lives! And so far everything has smoked great. I trimmed them, dried em, then cued them in glass jars with rubber seals. They look great, SMELL incredible, and taste amazing!! I have 16 plants vegging right now that are probably about a month away from flowering and the Northern Lights strain is growing like crazy. The other plants are doing great as well, growing like weeds! haha 
The only thing Im having a problem with is my clones. I have done it a few times already but it's been in the negative digits around here lately so it's been quite cold in my unheated grow room. My clones are in cups inside of a rubber storage tote. I have it covered with plastic with 3 clamp lights with 100W CFL's. I have made tons of clones successfully using this method but the cold is my enemy. I know that if the growing medium is a little warmer the clones will root better so I put a heating pad under the tote on low. This has definately brought up my temperature and the humidity. They get misted a few times a day but aren't looking very good. Any advice on that? Im thinking I might just have to take more clones. Any advice would be muchly appreciated!
Im looking forward to my next harvest though. Considering that the AK 47 I had yielded 2 ounces by itself. I've made a lot of improvements since my first harvest (this is only my second) and Im pretty proud of myself! Just hoping that I can keep raising my yields! My goal for this harvest is at least a pound if not a pound and a half maybe! Keeping my fingers crossed and my girls healthy! Well, happy smoking all! And let me know about the clones! Thanks!

My only guess would be maybe you're over watering the clones. Misting a few times a day on top of you're regular watering schedule might be too much. Just a thought... Oh, and congratulations on your bountiful harvest! I'm a few days away from a harvest as well

Hey JadeLeaf! The only time I water the clones is when I first cut them. And that's only a little moisture on the top of the dirt so Im not really even watering. The only water they get is from spray and humidity. I think I saved a few of them but Im not too worried about it. I've got plenty of possible clones on my plants. I took 26 more a little while ago and they are in the set up I had before BUT it was warm and humid before I put them in, not a few days later. So Im thinking Ill have a pretty good success rate on this one but Im not gonna count my pennies too soon! I'll keep you all posted.

Hello everyone, I have been lurking for a while soaking up all the great info. I am fighting the Borg now and have killed them all in my veg room with the no pest strips and fogging. Still have them in the flowering room, going to fog again tomorrow and jack the humidity way up for a day and see what that does. Also have 8 strips in there, little buggers just won't die. Anyway thanks for all the help everyone and good luck to everyone else out there fighting mites.

Man, I had killer mites for a little while. Guy at the hydro shop recommended the Safer Soap remedy. I bought one of those bug sprayers from Home Depot and sprayed them liberally from top to bottom. Knocked them down a lot, but they kept coming back after a few days. So my final remedy was Doktor Doom bombs. That seemed to do the trick. Then I added a couple of ProZap Insect Guard strips. These pretty much just rock. I highly recommend them. Got them at my hydro shop for around $10 each. Got rid of my mites in about 2 weeks. I had a nasty infestation too.
Learned my lesson though. Big thing is you gotta keep things clean.

I got this new foliar feed CO2 product from Xtreme Gardening, made by some company named Reforestation Technologies. Stuff gave me two inches of growth in three days and dried out all my powdered mildew. Dont know if it will help on spider mites but well worth the try!

Just thought I would give you all an update on my spider mite problem. I'm happy to say they are all gone!! My method took a few weeks but that is because I refuse to use anything that isn't organic. So here is what I did: First I kept a fan blowing up from the ground so that the air was blowing the underside of the leaves. At night, before the lights went off, I misted all plants heavily with alcohol/water mix(about 50/50) which brought the humidity up to around 80%. When the lights would come on I'd turn the ventilation fans on to bring the humidity back down. I did this in three day blocks. Treat with humidity for three days, off for 2 days. And finally, like most of you, I used Hot Shot No Pest Strips. Two strips for the flowering room (3'x3'x6') which held 6 plants, and one for the vegg/clone chamber (2'x2'x5'). Again, it took me about 3 weeks to get rid of every last mite but to me it was worth it. So good luck to all of you in combating these nasty little pests. Remember that diligence is the true key to making things happen. Peace!

Hey man glad to hear that your problem is solved! even though you could have solved the problem with just the no pest strips and not have to bother with all that other nonsense. But congrats anyways! Fuck spider mites! And now you know how to deal with em! That's the best part of getting spider mites once. You then know how to deal with them. I haven't had to again tho. Just the 1 time.

Yeah, somehow i cringe when i hear that word NEEM-OIL, shit took out a whole crop overnight after my ex-grow partner decided it was a good ideal to use on the roots where the bugs were...=/ so go the most organic route i can now a days. Im tryin Lady Bugs for my mites prob., seems to be doin decent so far.
well, I have mites and I have been reading treads for the last two days...I read many cures, but none that don't cause a bad taste, smell, or residue, or serious warning...one interesting post was using certain peppers to make a broth and sprayed on the plants...tried it but it plugged the sprayer...I have to strain better...then I came across this Raid stuff and, because the mites are just getting started, I wanted to spray em' with something before they took over...the day before using this stuff, I took a piece of white paper and held it under the leaves and shook them...had over 10 mites on the paper...yesterday, one day after spraying, I did the white paper thing again...no mites...today is the third day, so I will spray again...hope I made the right decision...will let ya know...
Well, I had sprayed twice, 3 days apart...At present I cannot find any mites...the plant has wilted slightly on top, but so far seems ok...I started to bud it on Jan 1...so far so good...getting little buds starting and looking good...unless something drastic happens, I will assume this stuff works...I also purchased Habanaro peppers, and will try that next if mites come back...if my plant shows any sign of affects from the Raid Earth Options, I will surely post a warning...thanks for letting me step in on this thread....

Good evening fellas, I found a product called mighty bomb, it's distributed by Hydrofarm, all good stuff in it. Organic . I had mites really bad this summer, I'm from Ri and my medical grow is on a 3rd floor. 6 1000w lights vented and cooled by a 24,000 btu AC. I have some great strains and tried other sprays , liquid lady bug was not powerful enough, mighty wash coated them in a Nasty slime and plants hated it. This stuff called mighty bomb however evaporated nicely and did not seem to smother my plants. If you type in Hydrofarm mighty bomb on google. You can read all about it. Worked for me and thumbs up!! 3 sprayings a few days apart..and no more mites. Stop wasting your time and your cash on the other products. They did not work for me.
