Spider mite question

Ok, I had a small infestation in my green chamber. I caught it early, being slightly obsessive. I used mite rid, then a couple days later neem, cleaned a couple times. I sprayed a Bayer surface cleaner and Siphotrol Plus II premise spray for fleas and mites and did mite rid again a few days later at a weaker concentration just to clean up and be sure.

I have been looking very carefully for damage in my new clones and I have found mites and eggs that seem to have turned amber, no white ones or moving mites. Here's my question: if I don't see any moving mites for a while am I ok? I see them but I assume they're dead. Do they burrow and just sit there or are they moving around when they are alive?

I really don't wanna lose any genetics to these bastards.

With these "bastards" being obsessive is not only permissable it is strongly encouraged. Using the arsenal of products you mentioned should offer good control if you have interupted their life-cycle. As you have already done, check daily for movement of juveniles and treat again if any are seen. I use to go for a good level of control in the past but I now have a take-no-prisoners attitude regarding mites and go to extremes to eradicate them whenever seen.

Carl is dead on!!! I just found a friggin' infestation of spider mites in my seed run girls. I douched them with pyrethrum and it took care of them. I'm keeping an eye on them in case they come back for more.

Yes, dead as a door nail but check again soon to see if new ones have hatched from eggs. Also check the tender new growth from the top of the plant for any new damage. Look for the mottled, "salt and pepper" appearance as a good indicator of activity.

Also, search FORBID and FLORAMITE on ebay.

The best there is for mite control and the only place to get it unless you are a licensed applicator.

If you are starting to have problems again, just buy a Hot-Shot Pest Strip from lowe's or Home Depot, they're 6$ and they work wonders, like magic. Within 1-2 days every pest is killed off and it's harmless to your plant. It emits a odorless, toxic gas which is horrible for the little critters.

I have a family, there is no way I am introducing that to my indoor air.

It seems fine for now. I think I have eradicated them. I will watch carefully.
