Update:
I was able to keep them under slow progress until harvest. I used foggers every 5-7 days and dr. doom spider mite knockout every other day. I gave the girls 4 days of flush with no sprays and I had no taste issues. Final product is excellent. I just left a good length of stem when I harvested and all the mites had traveled to the top of the stem after a day or two and began building webs up there. I just clipped the 4-6 inches of stem and used a makeup brush to get any existing webbing off of the buds.
The buds burn great (no snap, crackle, pop like I heard happens) and the taste is excellent.
Don't give up the fight, it is worth it. I'm glad I didn't.
