So, my bro just got a new skatey the other day - cadialliac 78mm wheels, swiss bones bearings, 159mm trucks, not sure bout the board but its a sweet set-up
so yeah, we do a fair bit of downhill skating, mostly street surfing, manuals, not too much board tricks and stuff. usually we drive round find a nice long road going down a hill, park at the top, skate down and trudge back up.
so we did a few decent hills yesterday, probably clocked 45Km/h ... and just before i got to the bottom, got some damn speed wobbles and hit the bitumen hard. grazed up my elbows, knees, fucked up my hands pretty bad, my shoulder and hip are pretty bruised. Luckily my head was ok
so yeah, today still feeling pretty sore we went out find some nicer hills (tightened up my trucks so i wouldnt get the wobbles so bad) and second hill we tried which was a mammoth (i bailed, my bro went hard) my bro comes off RIGHT AT THE BOTTOM, chewed up his arms and legs real bad, big gash in his elbow.
so yeah... not really such a big story, but just thought id suggest those that skate to never discount safety gear... we haven't worn any safety gear for the 13 years of skating we've done - but are definetley thinking about it now... gravel rash fucking hurts
god bless mary-jane getting us through the pain.
EDIT- oh yeah, im trying to get some photos uploaded... they are on my phone but my phone is oldskool and hard to transfer to the computer
