Speeding up veg time

Hey nerds! I have been thinking a lot lately on ways to speed up my veg time more specifically from rooted clone to nice knee high plant in 2 gallon pots. I get roots in 10-14 days no problem using subs plastic shoebox method. But on most strains it takes more than a week to 10 days to see signs of vigorous growth after transplant . I am very careful to not over water them temps and humidity are 75 and 45% all the time. overall it takes me about 2.5-3 months from rooted clone to get a nice 4.5-5ft tall plant to flower in 7 gallon ss pots. I veg under a 600w MH and switch it up to 1000 when plants get big. What are some ways to speed up growth in the 2 gallon pots? supplement with light feeding of ligquid nutes or just top dress with a small amount of ss on top? I just need to get my veg game rocking a little better to get my plants to the desired size in the least amount of time.

How many 4.5-5 foot giants are you trying to veg under that 600W MH?

Things that hat might help:

* BIGGER POTS! 7 gallons seems tiny for a plant that goes into flower already 4.5-5 feet tall.

* More light. If you want to grow plants that tall, a 600 watt MH just doesn't have the juice to penetrate a 5 foot tall canopy. 600 MH's aren't that efficient compared to 1000 or 400 watters.

* Alfalfa teas are excellent for veg. You'll notice a nice burst of healthy growth.

3 months veg seems pretty good for 5 feet tall... how tall to the darn things finish? i flower my plants when they hit 24 inches or so tall and they regularly finish at 6 feet tall. and i second spicy on more light if you want more vigorous growth, 600's only have so much power.

I use the 600 in early veg then switch to the 1000 for when they get bigger. I am trying to veg 8 plants under that light. My plants usually finish about 6-6.5 feet tall. I dont turn the co2 on till week 3 of bloom to keep streching to a minimum. Maybe I am just asking for too much out of my system and plants. is 2.5-3 months veg pretty good for a 5ft plant? Maybe I just need to start clones and seeds earlier. I just seem to be running into not having my plants a big as I would Like before flowering.

Try this...take that MH out, put it back in the box where it belongs and replace it w/ HPS. There's no comparison for growth in veg. Some people talk about internode stretching or whatever, I haven't takin' notice to any change. In fact, a few months after using HPS, I went back to using MH just to make sure. Guess what? Growth slowed down! Never again. A 6' light rail w/ a 1000 w. HPS, u can't go wrong. bongsmilie
