Yes and NO
Depends exactly what your after.
6" fans on half speed HUMMMMMM, humming not and issue then go for it.(HUM isn't from the air movement.. it's from the coil and capacitor)
But if you need it to be quiet then look at variac controllers (DIY one on RIU).... or if you want your fANS to help control temp look into primair...sms.com fan controllers, these controllers controll fan in fan out ..you can set min fan speed and max temps.. but these aint variac controllers and can and will make a fan HUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM..... Variacs SILENCE THE HUM. It may seem that a controller designed to do the job right is a tad more than the one you are looking at but you'll find it most useful. A Good growing enviroment is essential..... can have all the lights you want but if the enviroment isn't up to par.... niether will the bud or yeild be.

Just looked at your fan..... that controller will make THAT fan HUM at anything over 20% POWER AND UNDER 80%.

Thanks for the tips man REP+

I really dont need to get anything crazy man, just something that will make it a tad quieter....sounds like a jet engine in my closet right now lol...Im probably gonna wrap the fan in foam, but i still need some sort of speed controller....i rather a HUMM than a RRAAAHHHHHHH, its really cool how powerful it sucks in air tho, it closes my door like a refrigerator
