Spacedawg pheno search

Hello Friends!

I recently decided that i would upgrade my growing space to allow 2 flowering locations; one for running proven clones and a smaller, separate space for testing seeds. I ended up purchasing a 4x4 tent with a 600w hps and a 10 pack of Spacedawg to take everything for a test drive. I put all 10 seeds into root riot cubes, which were set in a standard nursery tray/humidity dome under a T8 light fixture. Within 3 or 4 days all 10 had sprouted, and they all went into 1gal hard pots with roots original straight outta the bag (well, sorta straight outta the bag. i dump my base soil into trash cans and let it "cook" right along with my super soil). I let the seedlings do their thing in those pots for about 10 days, at which point i tossed the runt into the compost pile and transplanted the remaining 9 plants into 5gal hard pots with 50-55% super soil (i use sub's recipe, with some tiny adjustments). They vegged for a couple weeks, i took clones and culled the 2 males, i gave them a few days to recover, and started 12/12 on 10-13-2012. I am very pleased with what i have seen thus far, but only 1 shall survive to be grown another day! I am looking for a high horsepower nigh time smoke that is pleasing to the pallet, i hope to find that here. I plan to show all you dudes the progress with updates. This will be my very first project involving photography so please hang in there with me, and i would love some advise on the pictures. Thanks for stopping by!

Ps: i know someone will point it out before long, but i know i have too many plants in this tent! i wasn't expecting to get 7 females out of 10 seeds... what a problem to have eh?

You are going to have fun with this one. Space dawg is crazy strong, gets me all trippy. TBH I don't smoke much of it because of how it lays me the fuck out.

Ccoastal has been loving on my space dawg, its one of his favorite smokes of mine (as many others concur) I founf the lemon pheno to be my favorite.

Just flipped both of my current phenos again for a second go last week. should be right behind you this run.

super healthy ladies. that cool tube is nice. much smaller footprint than traditional hoods
thank you sir. i chose the cool tube because ceiling space is at a premium in the tent, and i dont think a traditional hood would make any difference seeing as the space is only 4x4 and the walls are reflective. the fact that it was also the cheapest option just sweetened the deal.

Well friends, we have a short update

Right now the ladies are just about finished with their 3rd week of 12/12 and thus far i could not be happier. Vigorous growth to say the least! I have my eye on the pheno in picture #3... she has nice tight node spacing and just the right amount of stretch once flipped; i like her structure :). The smell is starting to kick up in there, soon i will give each pheno a very academic sniff and hopefully report back with some accuracy. I don't see much trich production yet, but the budsites are building up nicely. Lots of real big indica leaves in there. I will update again in a few days, with any luck there will be images of frost to share.

i found that spacedawg was most def some dankness, but not as strong as everyone claims it to be. I still find that pretty much nothing will put you on your ass like some real og. With that said my pheno was almost a blueberry/ snocap smell very interesting turpen production for sure. I would definitely reccomend growing it though some grade a dank for sure good job sub!!!

Here they are at day 2 of week 4, this is the first time the plants have been removed from the tent for individual inspection, figured i would snap a few shots to share. Its pretty clear that they are getting bunched up in the tent and that they wanna spread out a bit but that is just too bad for them haha, i got what i got! Things will start to get interesting in my next update, as i type this the trich development is becoming noticeable.

i am very pleased to be able to report that pheno #2 is producing odors of sweet tropical fruit (i say pina colada, my little lady says pineapple, and 1 patient says he smells coconuts). im sure the smell will become more destinct and easy to describe as it matures. #2 is one of the more indica leaning phenos and verticle growth only vaires by about 6 inchs between all 7 females. Sadly, i have to say that they have outgrown their 5 gal pots and i have started feeding them teas to make sure they stay nice and green a bit longer but i forsee rootbound issues before all is said and done... my next run in this tent will be with either less veg time, topping, or 7 gal pots or some combination of those 3 variables. that being said a little stress in this tent is not such an issue to me as it will help to weed out weeker phenos, so only the strong will survive :)

it is time for me to decide what will get run through this tent next...

i have a 5 pack of space bomb a friend gave me : http://tgagenetics.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=111:space-bomb&catid=82:strains&Itemid=560

a patient has requested wonder woman from nirvana : https://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/nirvana-seeds-wonder-woman/prod_1299.html

i have been thinking its time to try an offering from another breeder, not for any particular reason just for some variety. i think it might be fun to run a "mystery" pack from mr. nice : https://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/mr-nice-seeds-dreamtime/prod_1205.html

thoughts?

i have few nice phenos of space dawg. what i thought would be my keeper turned out to be cranky one in flower, the one i didnt think ide like ended up being my keeper. i noticed two phenos so far. one that stretches and one that stays sqaut a little. i like the stretchy one better because of what i have seen them produce. all smell amazing, some with a more chemy fuel citrus smell and others sweet and sour candy. i have noticed the shorter pheno tends to be just a nice mellow smoke, like a relaxing chemdawg,,while the stretchy pheno seems to be a bit stronger. my keeper has a stretch to it and space between internodes but has super rock hard buds that resemble c99 alot and share the scent of both parents.

i didnt take the time to label each photo with the corresponding plant number, i was just playing with the camera my mother has loaned me and the tripod i found hidden in my basement. i really wanna buy a nice camera, im working with a fujifilm s5100 and i find it to be quite limiting. I have been trying to improve my photos with photoshop (i have version 6) but i have not had any photo editing training in about 10 years so its like learning all over again. hope someone enjoys them!

I had 5 females all showed differet yet shared traits. Some were more compact and shorter and others were whispy and stretchy. All of them are good in the resin category and all smell fantastic. I have smoked reall good c99 a few times so I can really pick it up in the space dawg and that sticks out a little in this cut. Really I felt this cut reprsented traits of all of them in a nice package. Its down fall is the super stretch and long spacing but if you look at the buds from top to bottom they are rock hard and way swollen.
