The jar would probably explode in space. It is carrying gas under 101kPa of pressure. As soon as the seal breaks, it will dissipate and momentum equations of classical mechanics will describe the rest.

Actually nasa allready answered that back in the 60's , im no rocket scientist so my explaination might be fuked but here is what i remember from Television & school back in like 1965 or so , When oxygen is vented into space it seperates , oxygen is made up from different gasses & without an atmosphere to hold the gasses together they seperate & revert back into simple gasses & go their seperate ways , thats what i remember from like 7th grade science class & i wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer so i could be simplifying shit .

I always wondered what a fire would look like in space. I would imagine it's something like water, pouring over anything that gives it oxygen. That's sorta hot. I'm at full salute.
