You're in luck! I just burned one and have coffee handy ;)
FWIW - I have ditched the "journal" and for the most part the schedules. I realized I was tracking and worrying about things that I won't go back and check later. After the good and the bad so far here's what I have whittled it down to

What week is it of veg or flower? Sched's were messing me up because of the fact that plants don't follow it. I was using the schedules like a checklist. Wasn't an issue until I did small pots, and was about ready to start hitting a plant with her late bloom PK booster when I realized she didn't even have brown pistils yet. SO knowing the stage of growth - especially in flower - is key. Most of the schedules show a progression of nutes in flower. shifting away from the N and towards the PK. If the schedule has a noticeable change in it, that transition is supposed to be for a plant transition. Here's how I got that.

Fox Farms flower crystals are set up in 3 parts, and used at different stages of growth. Comparing the schedule to the intent, it works like this (for me)
Open Sesame (step one) - is from the first pre-flip feed until week 2 of flower - which is about when pistils pop
Beasty Bloomz (step two) - is for the next 3 weeks - which is about how long it takes to get brown pistils
Cha-Ching is the last one and goes to the end.

Most of the other nutes are similar so find THAT then apply it to your plants. I now use my interpretation instead of "week 5", but knowing that my plant is in week 5 of flower I still base most of the feeding off of that week of the schedule instead of getting mixed up with checklists and feeding week 6 during week 4 because the plants dried out quicker.

Oh - now I just have a big desk-blotter calendar with room to write notes. And I write in pencil ;)

This past grow in soil I just marked calendar on water and feed days. Took notes of any trouble.

Now in coco I just keep track of ph and ppm/ec. Everyday is water/feed day lol

Makes sense - why would you need a "journal" ;) I think that is why I like soil though.

Lights come on I 'weigh' the pot. If it's light I do whatever is next (feed or water). Still heavy I check it again before lights out. It helps keep track of how a fast a plant is eating and what adjustments you might need to make to the "schedule" - or "plan A" as I like to call it :)

I would say it's def harder than soil.

Ffof was easy. Growing in 5g bags, watering every few days. Easy

Coco requires a little more work and making sure your ph and ppm #s are on point.

Also watering numerous times daily is time consuming .

That's what I gathered reading about it - didn't sound like my bag of donuts.

Yeah the watering frequency is why so many folks use auto feed systems on their coco. Some use drippers, I think some people will flood and drain it.
Yep for sure. I am in the process of trying to make things easier

I have 3 flood tables, all 4` long. Eventually each table will be used as ebb and flow and filled with clones. For now tho, during the search for moms, ive chosen to grow in Coco

i will run drain to waste of some sort for the coco , whether it be drip or just continue hand watering, just having the waste runoff to floor drain will be a huge help.

I am also trying to make a reservoir today.

I bought a 30g tote, already have a small pump here and some hosing and a few fittings. If i can get a rez all fixed up and then get my tables connected to the plumbing, i will have much less work to do daily.

Need this CMH tent to finish up so i can have the space and put the new room all together. For now the Blueberries and chocolate have to stay in the 4x4.

trying to buy one that sits in my rez and moniters temp/ph/ppm or ec

not sure what the difference in these 2 are, other than the price?

@Renfro mentioned these to men before, not sure if same or not.
Pricey, nothing but good reviews, but not really worth it if you dip it in a bucket every 3-4 days...

With your new situation it might be a wise investment.

Ya that's what I'm thinking. Once I'm running ebb and flow I'll also be running a much bigger Rez. So I think it will be a great investment for sure.

I figure I'll order one now and learn on the 30g Rez lol

So is there any difference between the $275 one or the $406? Other than price , what makes the 406 one better lol

"Also data logs the critical parameters to your computer for you..." is all I see at a glance. Probably paying for Bluetooth shit.

" 'The Cadillac of Meters'
The simplest Meter in it's class "
is the selling point for the cheap one.
