Sourcing parts in Australia

One of the only products I'm having trouble trying to source is the 18AWG solid core copper wire, any other Australians here able to find any domestically without having to go international?

I can't remember whether I bought this and the red wire from Bunnings. Or whether it was from Jaycar.

That'd be the Bunnings one. It did the job for you fine?

I used it to make an induction lighter. Not as the induction coil though. That was nickel wire.

It handles up to 10 amps. That's a fair amount of wattage before it cooks.

Only thing is. This isn't solid copper. It's multiple strands in a sheath.

Yeah I think I might try and source something a bit closer to this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B...={{linkCode}}&tag=gm5yo-20&linkId={{link_id}}. If I can't find anything in Aus I'll probably just fall back onto this one and just pay $30 Australian for it.

Just find an old appliance cord or buy an extension cord...splice it open...3 strands of 3 colours...

In Australia cable is categorized into mm rather than gauges. Bunnings has everything you need just get it rated to the correct voltage. You are better off with stranded wire imo but each to their own....

Stranded wire it is then, what voltage should I be looking for? 250v? And in that case I should be looking for 1mm right?
