Maybe this falls more into the category of accessories, but it seems to fit here because it’s all about the quality of my dab. A dab off a dirty banger is unpleasant, and diminishes the quality of the medication. A dab off a really dirty banger is only slightly better than a resin hit.
I love my mjarsenal jammer mini rig. I squish my own rosin and do more dabs per day than I could ever count, which means I go through bangers pretty quickly. I’m careful about squishing my bud at 62% humidity and using high quality bags to minimize contamination. I wipe my banger with a q-tip after every dab and try not to get it red hot since that damages the quartz. I try to do as little burning off of shit as possible.
Most of the stuff I’ve seen on amazon and eBay is straight from China and my guess is it’s all borosilicate and not real fused quartz. Most of them have a bunch of unnecessary shit like temp indicators and inner chambers and little balls that roll around and they all have 4mm bottoms which take forever to heat. I’m not into giant snake dabs and a big 4mm thick bucket on a mini rig is fucking stupid.
Mjarsenal sells decent replacement bangers at a fair price but they take forever to ship. The rig I ordered with “3 day priority shipping” took almost 2 weeks to arrive, so I’d like to find a source that gets me what I need faster. I’m looking for a plain old 10mm quartz banger, with a 2mm bottom. If I could find a place that sells them for around $10 a piece and ships fast that would be awesome.
Aside from that I’m open to buying a really high quality banger and meticulously maintaining it, but that would also require hiding it from my girlfriend since the finer points of dabbing elude her. But yeah this banger is already getting pretty gnarly after only a day. If I could find the right dremel attachment, I’d be interested in trying to polish the inside of the banger with some cerium oxide. The other think I’m going to try is some good old fashioned piranha solution (sulfuric acid and hydrogen peroxide).
