Just using them as is. I don't see the benefit of the Tasmota firmware TBH. The eWelink app gives you full LAN control, so you don't even need internet access to control them.
TBH I use Sonoff for the lights in my flower tent. SmartLife for my fans and TP-Link Tapo for the lights in my veg tent. I tie it altogether with Google Assistant routines. I can count the number of times it has failed in the last two years on the fingers of one hand.
I am a Sys Admin, retired, with 30 years experience. I have considered going off grid and use something like HomeAssistant or OpenHAB on a Raspberry Pi. I have a full Linux server sitting just storing my movies, music and local backups, but really can't be arsed. I don't see the point in re-inventing the wheel when cloud services are FOC and super reliable.

I need a little more than being able to set on/of times for a flower tent. I totally agree on cloud services being reliable. I have no issues using them. I just don't think Google Assistant or Alexa (what i am currently using) can easily do what I need, without a bit of code. If I am wrong I am all ears
I run a custom flood and drain. I need a switch that can turn on for "x" minutes, every hour, 24 hours a day. I want to be able to easily change X with my phone.
Today I do this with a smart plug and Alexa routines, Google Assistant routines are likely similar. But, it's a pain in the ass for me and I am trying to simplify it.
Alexa routines require me to have 24 events, one for every every hour of the day. Modifying X, my flood duration, requires me to make 24 damn routine changes. I want to change a single variable, once. My assumption is that I need tasmoda, not sonoff to do this. But that's why I'm here, to find out.
I haven't played with GA routines much. How easily could you turn your switch on for x minutes, every hour, 24 hours a day? How easily could you change X using Google Assistant?
