I've got a small space heater with a thermostat on it, in my little grow area.(You can see it in pic #1) I have a thermometer/hygrometer in there as well. I hung the remote sensor from it over the rafters above them, and I let the sensor dangle among the tops so as I can get a reading right from the tops of my plants. It stays between 70-80 degrees, and usually is between 50-60 percent humidity. I also drop my little black plastiic curtain, when Im not down there, so the room is enclosed.
My timer is set to feed in ten minute intervals, three times daily. I also mist my plants with a spray bottle filled with JUST distilled water(no nutrients in the spray) twice a day. It's actually one of my favorite parts of the day, when I get to go down in the basement, spray the girls, check my PH, and check the flow at the ends of my drip lines. I always thought that spraying them that often was just spoiling them, not hurting them.
As I said before, my light is 24" from the tops, so from what Weed Daddy says, I shouldn't be getting any burn from the lights. So that's good.
Yes, my girls are kinda' short. I did that intentionally, to accomodate the issue i have with my basements celing being too short. I only have four feet from the top of my planter to the bottom of my light. When they first started, I had them under fluorescents. Using Fluoros, I was able to keep the lights VERY close to the tops, and they stayed short. Some of my branches are almost the same height as my tops. My girls should end up being little short, fat bushes.
I'll definately take all of your advice. It seems to be the concensus among the gurus of this fine site that Im burning my girls with too much nutrients. I'll pick up some more distilled water today,(time to re-stock anyways) and mix them a half-strength solution. I'll give it a week, and if that doesnt pull them out of it, I'll change their nutrients to Bloom, cut my lights to 12/12, and flower em'.
Oh, and I've also got about a half-dozen ladybugs hangin' out down there too. They love it here.
As far as the strain of them goes... well... I guess you could say I have a mix-breed garden with no hi-breds. This is my first time growing, and didn't want to spend money on seed I might mess up. This is my "trial run". The seed Im using is a collection of seeds from the best smoke my area has to offer. My brother, his wife, and I saved seed for 6 months and ended up with only 15 that we thought came from good enough smoke to try and grow. I am not using any hi-bred strain, but Im not using bunk, commercial either. (i.e. If I saved the seed, it came from a pretty bud.) So Im not exactly workin' with dookie either. Furthermore, MY GIRLS will have sensimilla flowers, thereby making it better than the original already was.
I really cant wait to see all the diverse breeds in one garden. Some will have very few trichomes, and some will be richly covered in them. I think it'll look cool. That wont enhance thier chances of passing diseases and such, will it?
From the looks of things, I've got 2 Indica Donimant, and the rest idk... Maybe Sativa? Maybe cross? I can take individual pics, and post if it helps.
I want to take the time to say thanx again to ALL that are helping me! I really am LOVING, growing my own herb. I like the idea of not having to deal with business transactions with undesirable people. Growing for myself is kind of liberating in its own weird way. So, thanx again y'all!!! Hopefully I can get them to come out of this nonsense, and be healthy again.
I will continue to check/update this thread. So PLEASE keep the help coming!
IM GRATEFUL FOR THE HELP!!!kiss-ass
