Somethings wrong! HELP! (pics)

My ladies have been vegging for 3 months. 3 days ago, I got my 430W HPS, Son Agro system in the mail, and decided I was gonna' put them under that for the remaining weeks of thier vegetative growth and of course use the HPS for my flowering as well.
I'd been having some problems with my plants being a little "Wilty" before I put it up. I figured it was because my girls were outgrowing the 4 foot fluorescents I had them under, and the problem would go away with the addition of the HPS. Didnt happen. It's actually gotten a bit worse.
When I changed the bulb I also went with an extra strong nutrient mix too. Im not sure if Im over-nutrienting them, or if my light is burning them up. HELP!!!
Here are some pics...

This is my setup. 18/6, Top-feed, drip hydroponic system...

This is the "wilty" branches, and sunleaves I was mentioning...

Please help!!!:cuss:

No responses yet? I hope someone can help with this. I'd hate to see them die. I've spent ALOT of time and money on these girls.

It looks to me like some pretty bad nutrient burn. It looks similar to this photo...

That photo is of nutrient burn.

But on the other side of the coin...you could have a magnesium deficiency. See the picture below.

Magnesium deficiency looks similar to a nutrient burn, but the leaves start curling UP. I noticed in one of your photos, a leaf appears to be curling.

Back off your nutrients for a few waterings. Also, foliar feed your plants 1/2 teaspoon of epsom salts to a quart of water. Mash up the salt, put it in a quart of hot water (not boiling!) and let it dissolve...then foliar feed it to your plants (spray on the leaves, top and bottom).

Hope that helps...happy growing friend

Get rid of that tin foil!
Agreed...tin foil causes the light to focus on certain spots, which could put burn holes in your leaves!

Paint the walls white if you can, or get ahold of some emergency blankets if no mylar is readily available in your area.

Thanx for the help guys! I've taken down the foil,(I've got Mylar on the way from "Hydro Empire" anyways) and I added 3 gallons of distilled water to my 5 gallon nutrient mix, thereby diluting it. Hopefully that helps bring them around.

I never thought of painting the walls white! That's a damn good idea! As I said, I've got Mylar on the way, but I'm definately gonna' remember that for future reference.

Could my light(430W Son Agro HPS) be burning them up? I haven't ran any ventilation to my hood yet,(but plan to soon) and being in the basement, Im not able to move it any further away, than the 24" it already is.

Thanx again for all the help!!!

You dont mention the distance from light to plant tops... 18 inches is good, with glass 12 is ok... I dont know what strain they are, but at 3 months vegging, they are a bit small, you also dont mention the amount or frequency of watering, could be a factor... and what about the temperature and humidity in grow area ? 75 to 85 degrees is good with about 45 % humidity. Also they might just be ready to flip to flowering, you need to figure out if you have height constraints so you know when to switch them to flower. If you have only four feet to work with, 18 " space from lights to tops, plants can only be 30 " tall... They need air circulation, and you will certainly need a charcoal filter when they are a month into flowering... Good Luck and Keep on Growin !!! :-)

Looks like nute burn and heat stress.

Check your temps and move the light if need be and go slow on the nutes.

I also would suggest to not make so many new changes at once. I would have moved them under the new light for a few days to make sure the temps were fine and the plants reacted well. Than started new nutes.

Go slow. Be patient.

Good Luck bongsmilie

I think they look over watered and overfed. How often do you water? Also, you actually take the nute level down when you transfer into HID. Then bring it back up slowly.

I've got a small space heater with a thermostat on it, in my little grow area.(You can see it in pic #1) I have a thermometer/hygrometer in there as well. I hung the remote sensor from it over the rafters above them, and I let the sensor dangle among the tops so as I can get a reading right from the tops of my plants. It stays between 70-80 degrees, and usually is between 50-60 percent humidity. I also drop my little black plastiic curtain, when Im not down there, so the room is enclosed.

My timer is set to feed in ten minute intervals, three times daily. I also mist my plants with a spray bottle filled with JUST distilled water(no nutrients in the spray) twice a day. It's actually one of my favorite parts of the day, when I get to go down in the basement, spray the girls, check my PH, and check the flow at the ends of my drip lines. I always thought that spraying them that often was just spoiling them, not hurting them.

As I said before, my light is 24" from the tops, so from what Weed Daddy says, I shouldn't be getting any burn from the lights. So that's good.

Yes, my girls are kinda' short. I did that intentionally, to accomodate the issue i have with my basements celing being too short. I only have four feet from the top of my planter to the bottom of my light. When they first started, I had them under fluorescents. Using Fluoros, I was able to keep the lights VERY close to the tops, and they stayed short. Some of my branches are almost the same height as my tops. My girls should end up being little short, fat bushes.

I'll definately take all of your advice. It seems to be the concensus among the gurus of this fine site that Im burning my girls with too much nutrients. I'll pick up some more distilled water today,(time to re-stock anyways) and mix them a half-strength solution. I'll give it a week, and if that doesnt pull them out of it, I'll change their nutrients to Bloom, cut my lights to 12/12, and flower em'.

Oh, and I've also got about a half-dozen ladybugs hangin' out down there too. They love it here.

As far as the strain of them goes... well... I guess you could say I have a mix-breed garden with no hi-breds. This is my first time growing, and didn't want to spend money on seed I might mess up. This is my "trial run". The seed Im using is a collection of seeds from the best smoke my area has to offer. My brother, his wife, and I saved seed for 6 months and ended up with only 15 that we thought came from good enough smoke to try and grow. I am not using any hi-bred strain, but Im not using bunk, commercial either. (i.e. If I saved the seed, it came from a pretty bud.) So Im not exactly workin' with dookie either. Furthermore, MY GIRLS will have sensimilla flowers, thereby making it better than the original already was.

I really cant wait to see all the diverse breeds in one garden. Some will have very few trichomes, and some will be richly covered in them. I think it'll look cool. That wont enhance thier chances of passing diseases and such, will it?

From the looks of things, I've got 2 Indica Donimant, and the rest idk... Maybe Sativa? Maybe cross? I can take individual pics, and post if it helps.

I want to take the time to say thanx again to ALL that are helping me! I really am LOVING, growing my own herb. I like the idea of not having to deal with business transactions with undesirable people. Growing for myself is kind of liberating in its own weird way. So, thanx again y'all!!! Hopefully I can get them to come out of this nonsense, and be healthy again.

I will continue to check/update this thread. So PLEASE keep the help coming!

IM GRATEFUL FOR THE HELP!!!kiss-ass

Could the space heater be doing it? The timing would be about right. They started this about the time I put that in there. It doesnt get that hot tho... And I got my oscillating fan blowing on it.... idk...

I just finished changing the water, and putting them back on a half-strength nutrients. I also vented my hood.(I bought the whole Son Agro Kit, with the glass tube around the bulb.)
I cut their feeding times from ten minute intervals, to 8 minute intervals, and am getting ready to make the epsom salt mix as suggested by om3gawave. I'll be foliar feeding that to them before the lights go out tonight.
I also took the spaceheater out of the room.
I'll be re-posting in a few days to update how things are going.
