Got started on my project:
-I took a 6' 4x4 vinyl fence post and cut it half.
-on both top and bottom I marked the piece in half length wise and then at 4", 18", 32"
-for my purposes I added one between each of those but not necessary if just doing a plain 3 cob bar
-on the top I made 4"x4" openings to place the cpu heatsink and fan
-The bottom I will make openings with a 1.5" hole saw and probably some small holes for the wires
-I used eyehooks for the mounting support and then cut off the extra so they do not take up any space.

Well... Here is a little more progress. The heatsinks and fans came and so did the Cobs.
This is the fixture with the 3 holes cut out for the cob on the bottom of the fixture:
Here you can see I made holes to mount the cob setup:
Here they all are ready and waiting for the drivers and last bit of building.
BTW. I will be delayed because I need like a 2amp dc driver for the fans. for each fixture. so two... Ugh.. overlooked that one.

Also... I made an observation the other day. I am only running 100watts of led at 3000k for veg. Yet the penetration is super good. It rivals the hps. I noticed when looking up through the leaf while taking some cuts . I am thinking things will be pretty good with 330w in that 2x4 tent.

Looks good! If only those fence posts were metal just as a secondary heat sink. haha
I was gonna ask if they came pre thermal pasted then read that they did. Theres one thermal paste out there that works a fair amount better. I think arctic something. There was a review when i was looking up water cooling for CPUs. It was pretty constantly a few degrees cooler every time. Its more expensive but barely i think 5 bucks a tube and you might need 2 tubes.
Also you could probably get some better fans for cheap too. They should be ones designed for pulling air through a radiator. Which those ones probably are, just an "optimal performance" thought.

I dont think a metal case would really work like a heat-sink. Supra is doing passive with just much larger heat-sinks though and has great success. This is much cheaper though.
Lots of thermal paste out there but I saw these were already coated so just rolled with it.
I think these fans will be plenty of cooling for the cobs. these will be no more heat than a cpu and the enclosure is much more "airy" and open for airflow in comparison to a computer case. Factor in the space cooling fans that I still have to run for the carbon filters and I think heat will me a Non-issue. 400-600w hps gets HOT. coming from dealing with that I think this will be nothing.
....BTW... Waiting on drivers and have to order 120v to 12v dc converters

Been working at getting going again though!
Cabinet with four plants and no flat screen this time. Its at 250w now and it will be 1 week 12/12 Saturday:
Back left is ak47, back right is blue dream, front two are shark shock.
Here is the tent. I set it up with six plants for the led fixtures I am building. Still only under 100w right now vegging:
left two are cherry pie, middle back is mk ultra, front middle is dog. right back is deep psychosis right front is pre-98 bubba.
