Hello everyone, I have posted a few posts in the past but haven't done anything with updating my online progress in months. Anyways everyone my tongue is tied as to what I should do now with the 2 regular plants that are now about 4 1/2 ft tall !!!!!! The first seed that I planted was a lemon bagseed from some really dank bud I got and just so happened to have a single seed in a full oz of it. It started off in a small half gallon pot and has been transplanted to what is now a 5 gal container with air holes drilled all over the place (really works great as the roots get air). At one point in time it was a small plant that I thought just stopped growing but put it in larger container and took off.

The second plant I have is a Royal Queen Seeds Sour Diesel. It is an absolutely gorgeous plant that is super healthy and green planted in a 5 gal bucket. Couldn't ask for anymore since this is my first grow of regular seeds. I have successfully grown 8 autoflowers indoors with decent results just not as dense nugs as I had hoped. The setup is a 3x3 closet with 250 watts of cfl bulbs and a 400 watt hps lights. General Organics nutrients which have really allowed the plants to take off. Canadian peat moss and perlite/vermiculite mix.

My question is that I have 2 plants which I would consider quite large (especially opposed to the autoflowers as it has vegged for 4 months) and will be putting them into a 12/12 cycle at the end of the month. Is the closet that I am using going to be big enough?? Am I providing remotely enough light to get good results from the grow?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have just worked so hard and am about to flip the lights soon so I don't want to mess something with serious potential up.

Pictures ???

I don't have any advise, I flip my lights at a month and they stretch 100% or more. I would think that you would not get anywhere near as much at 4 months of veg.

When you say watts of cfl are you talking actual watts??

It is likely they will get a fair bit bigger, depending on strain/pheno
for the first 3 weeks or so on 12/12 they can more than triple in size
but since yours are 4ft already in veg that is unlikely , but i will still assume they will get over 6ft

posting some pictures would be helpful
depending on how much space they are taking up a 400w hps may cover them ok
but a 600w would be a better option since they are tall and will need a good penetration

having your cfl lights around the bottom to middle of the plants while the 400w hps is over the top of them
would be ok if thats all you can work with

you can top your plants now, this will often cause the lower branches to shoot up
when you top just before flower
or you might want to think about bending the branches over and tieing them down
to create an even canopy that stays at 4-5 ft high instead of 6-8ft high in 3 weeks time lol

i would not leave them as they are, when colas grow close to hot bulbs this is not good
can cause all sorts of issues

peace

Here is a pic of what I have. Sorry its not in the closet but it is very cramped in there right now since I have my last autoflower in there finishing up.bccrowley-608746-albums-my-first-indoor-grow-picture2857662-a.jpg

And just a note to everyone, I am using a 400 watt hps bulb and ballast as well as 3 65 watt cfl and a bunch of 30 watt cfls. Im thinking about buying another 400 watt or even a 600 watt to finish these babies up

Hi there. I am going to tell you now that your going to have a big problem when you flip them to 12/12 . Your plants are going to about double in size when you flip them. You didn't say how big your grow room is. Like the other guy said i would tie them down and or put it into a SCOG now before you put them into flower. This is my second grow and i have one this about 2 month old and i have LST it and its only about two foot tall but very bushy. When i flip her she is going to i hope to get a pound of dry from here. You could do the same if you get them into LST now.

damnn you are going to have some GIANTS on your hand... At most, sativas grow 2.5 times it's veg heights in flowering... So, best bet is to start tying them down, GENTLY, so the height is reduced. Keep them outside. If where you live you get more then 12 hours of dark, start putting them in flower by covering them with 2-3 black contractor bags ASAP.

The pics of the two that are flowering is Auto Trans Siberian. So far has a diesely smell and will hopefully pack on some weight under the 400 watt hps that its under. The colas look as seem very full but the denseness hasn't quite happened yet. I have noticed that they are not super dense nugs as I would want. Do I just have to give it time and they will fill in?? Thanks everyone for the positive feedback. I have been doing my best to take care of them in the limited 3x3 space that I have. Wish me luck fellas. What do you think about that autoflower. They bud I have produced from them in the recent past hasn't been quite as strong in thc but still very good bud. Just not getting the dense nugs as I said for some reason. The heat is very low in the room. stays 60's and 70's

I never got the nugs I like with the 400w either. I just got a 600w phantom ballast and I'm doing a vertical grow so im excited to see the difference in yield.

Definetely thinking about buying one of the 600 watt apollo horticulture on ebay. at 135 shipped you cant beat it. Im sure it would make all the difference in the world as to making the nugs more dense. Guess I will find out how much I can get with what I have for now if I don't get it shipped out soon. I will continue to veg till the end of this month to ensure my autoflower is best it can get and then the switching will begin.

BTW how exactly do you get dense nugs??? Never really found a definitive answer. Lights, nutes, temp, all make a big difference as well as genetics i know, but what about a special something to densen them up???

idk man, there's all them additives that they try to convince you work but I'm not so sure about it. It's all about genetics and the environment. Both are essential to a yield. And remember, nothing indoor will compare to outdoor if you ask me nothing can beat natural sunlight. It all depends on different things... Growing methods too...

read up on vertical bare bulb growing... I read u can increase yields by a lot if done correctly.. If you look at my previous threads, a guy explains it all which is why I'm giving it a shot.. He convinced me to switch lol
