Some questions/ need ideas

I got a 4x5 closet space I'm looking for recommendations on a 4x4 tent to put inside closet has a window inside and I'm putting a ac in it what do u guys think? I took a break for awhile cuz my fan broke got another on the way this would be my 4 th grow. My third was complete shit cuz the fan broke during flowering. So I'm looking for ideas on the 4x5 space

Perhaps I miss something, but why are you putting a tent in a space with dimensions 4 sq. ft off of the area in which you intend to grow?

A loose hanging of mylar or whatever reflective material you wish to use will eat up some of that square footage if lumens/cubicFoot is a concern, and the loose, movable nature of the material (assuming you have good air circulation) will cause a dappling of the reflected light which a lot of folks seem to find beneficial in and of itself. Also no need for the expense of a tent....Also more vertical space.

Light through the window will be blocked by the A/C, yes?

not sure what u mean. My tent will leave a 1 ft space which would be fine don't you think?

Why wouldn't you just grow in the closet, instead of growing in the tent inside the closet? I'm moving out of my closet to a tent in a couple months because I hate looking at my clothes hang on one of those damn external closets.

Yes, it would leave 1ft of space, but, as DrKingGreen also says "Why wouldn't you just grow in the closet?"

That was the gist of my blurb there. You asked for suggestions. I suggest you save on the expense of a tent if you're using the closet anyway. Get yourself some high quality reflective material with a good diffusion rating instead.

Nothing wrong with a tent, I'm just not seeing what you get out of it IN a closet.

Hehe. Eh, benefit of the doubt - I'll assume it just means he has stronger shit on hand than I do. I'm sure mylar will look like a good idea in the AM.

You just don't want a room inside a room makes no sense. But if you growing in your closet get you clothes out of there. Lol the stink toward the end. Have good air flow so you don't over heat in there. Good luck n have fun. You get what you put into it. Later

The closet is empty. I would grow inside the closet but the white panda film I had is gone plus I have a hard time cutting and hanging myself. I might just paint it and do it anyways. And I forgot to mention I only got a 400w hps so I'm not sure what space that would fill. Mylar is thin as hell and rips really easy. If I get anything it will be panda film or paint.


i think that covers everything. If I missed let me know.
i should mention I will have to get closet doors because the ones i had were mirrors and broke so I took them down

I have a tent in my closet and i like it just fine :) i can see why some people might find it excessive as you can just paint the walls white or hang mylar. but with a tent you get a nice closed in controled enviroment, it has holes cut into it already for ducting, poles and light hangers for all my equipment to be tied to. basicly everything you would need to do to your closet to grow is done for you when you stick a tent in there. i can also use the other half of my closet for clothes since the carbon filter inside the tent takes care of all the smell. i got my tent frow www.growtents.com and have been very happy with it. i mean whats not to love? im using led for light so heat really isnt an issue, i just leave the closet door open a crack and its good to go

Thanks prolly just gonna get a 3x3 tent so I got room to move etc.

plus a 400w would do nice in a 3x3 area I think.
that site don't have a 3x3 and I would rather get off ebay I'm more familiar with.

whatever works for yah man :) 400w is great for a 3x3, 600w would be better but would need a good ventilation setup

I got a 6 inch inline on the way cuz my other one broke or burnt up Idk what happened but it quit lol I'm gonna save for a 600w in a few grows all I need is a ballast and bulb already got cooltube ;)

that depends on a lot of things. how long you want to veg for being one of them. people can get large yields indoors off a few amounts of plants but this involves vegging them for a long time. you say you want a 3x3 tent? then i would recomend either 9 plants in 3 gallon pots or 4 5 gallon pots for that amount of space. a scrog with 4 plants would have a great yield in that space imo but it would take longer to veg then 9 small plants flowered after a month or so.

edit, i would do 9 plants only if u got the 600w, 400w wouldnt cut it

600w is out of the picture ATM so you say 4 5 gallon pots? I'll do researching into Scrog I've never did it. How long should I veg for? I'm thinking 5 weeks or so..


i might just grow them normal no Scrog maybe get some cheap side lighting
