some plants hate light?

my last grow the indica strain (2 plants) hated light. at like 600ppfd it was yellowing, clawing and trying to get away from the light the entire grow. i had other plants and said fuck that stupid indica. it still gave good bud, but looked like crap from a distance. top leaves were yellow/bleached.

so, new run. this time i have this THseed bubblegum. it has been a little bitch the entire time since germination. ....also took 3 seeds to get one to germ. sucks. this seed grew sideway in the dirt, then i fixed it. then it started growing weird shaped leaves (like OG stuff does sometimes). it looked gnarly. it's been transplanted. so, it sort of started improving. almost acting normal. light is at about 240ppfd at the plant top. plant is 3 weeks from germination. by the end of the lights on period it is wilted looking. almost like it needs water. at lights on after 4 hours off, it is perky again. so, it hates the lights.

why do i keep getting these weak plants that hate light. i never had this in any grow before. plants love light, the more the better. i realize DLI, but i can't have super different DLI across plants...also should have to give under 200ppfd to veg plant...that doesn't seem efficient. do i just mistreat this thing, cull it....not sure.

will it get better once roots are better established (they really should already be at the hempy reservoir), or should i expect this to stay this way the entire grow?

What are your temperature and humidity readings?

73 to 78 f. Humidity is 45%.

When it happened before was 76 to 77f and 60% humidity. So probably not that. I have 8 plants/7strains. Only 1 strain is doing this. Same as last grow but I only had 3 strains.

Have you tried reaching out to the company? How are you starting the seeds? Got any pics?

yes company sent another pack of seeds, same breeder but a different type (the one that worked out from that company).
i started two different ways. some were just in soil and a few in papertowel. paper towel usually works better for me. i did get 1 of 6 seeds that didn't come up in soil. i did fuck up some and burned the first 7of 8 seeds with a new heat mat. then i went back to the old method on top of the stereo (been working for 8 years, don't fix right). the bubblegum that is giving the problem was a paper towel pop. the pop was normal, but the development in soil was not. will post pic in a second.

so, the top right is the problem plant (bubblegum). it looks good here. this is just after lights on. it will look wilted when its time for lights off. the rest stay as in the pic.

the top left is another story, it's a la plata lemon alien that dudded or something.
i had tried a new soil mix for the seedlings and I am will to blame that as it is taking off after transplant a week ago. oddly the roots were pretty well developed, but that plant is two weeks older than the rest of them. if it stalls, it gets replaced with a quick auto.

I think it has less to do with your lighting and more about your choice of soil/medium, container size and lack of root development. Wilting usually indicates a lack of moisture or poor drainage. Starting these little plants in those big ass containers could be a factor. “Duds” are not very common unless using very old seeds. What kind of mix are you using?

All started in cups. All had root ball. Done this many times. Only changed the light. The small one is 30 days and it f****** look like that the entire damn time. The seed seller had to send me more seeds. Only one f****** plant is having this goddamn f****** problem

You say you started in soil…
Then ended up in hempys??

yep. i have done this for 8 years with great succuss. i start in an organic seed starter. then i transplant at about 15 to 22 days. once in hempy i get hydro level growth. i just my buddy to do this with a side by side comparison with soil. the hempy is 2x at 4 weeks veg.

I say under watering, ph issues along with feeding issues

ph was off in the soil ph, always is. ph is perfect now 5.7/5.8.

soil is wet in those pics from the day before.
there is a half gallon reservoir at the bottom.
tons of water.
they can't be overwatered. tested many times in this medium. you water 4x a day or 2x a week. doesn't matter.

If that's under LED then that's half your problem.
If its not LED then ignore me

i moved the bubblegum out from under the light. it loved that. made it the whole night without withering.

i have a second tent with sativas. i moved those around last night. the one i moved to the center is now having the issue. i move it away from the light (the Tikal from ACE seeds).
still under 300ppfd in both tents. plants are stretching more than last time....in fact last time i was asking about wtf happened to my flat ass plants....8 inches at 5 weeks, 8 to 10 nodes. no room to water. i had to raise the lights to stretch them.

So, i have 8 of these plants across 7 strains. 2 tents. same problem on random plants that are directly under the light. moving them away, makes it better.
