So I wanted to update with my beliefs about the condition. I found the drainage pH was over 7.0 yesterday, which is too high, and suggests problems with iron and manganese absorption. The 3-1-1 relative NPK formula I'm using is new this year and was inspired by a zamnesia article. My prior vegetative formula did not include MAP. I have recorded in an older formula's spreadsheet page that prior to the addition of MAP, my calnit formulas were alkaline forming with pH drainage values >7.2 pH. I seem to recall thinking I would need to revisit the issue one day, and I guess that day is now. One fix is to subtract some of the calnit, and replace it with an equal N-supplying amount of ammonium sulfate. I don't know the best ratio, I'll probably just take a stab with an initial percent, and then based on drainage pH measurement, will increase or decrease as needed until I start getting drainage values of 6.0 to 6.3 pH. Unless of course someone knows a good ratio and is willing to share!
