Okay. For everyone that loves to use
CFL lighting for their growing hobbies...

You should check this site out before
deciding.. or getting frustrated and mad
because your not sure what the best
setup is.

Well.. if you check out

http://www.stealthhydroponics.com/product.php?xProd=196&xSec=40

Item Description: 420 Watts, 23,400 Lumens!! Features a lighter and brighter reflector taking the Multi Spectrum Series to the next level. (23K Lumens from CFL bulbs)
That's a good amount. Enough lumens to
veg and flower your grows with this one
unit. Or you could use two of them....
use your imagination ya dig. ;)

They have a few more different CFL lighting
setups as well. The $200.00 one is the one
I ordered 3 days ago. I can't wait to get it
home!!! :D

My plant's are going to love this thing. I can
already see it... they're gonna love IT!!!

Hope this helped some of my fellow CFL
growers here at RIU.org.

peace.

Excuse me Ganjaluvr,

It looks like a nice set up, but do you really want the middle longated lights?
I think this is what I'm seeing?

Isn't a rule to use more of the spiral type?

Take Care

That's actually a good question bro.

But.. I can always switch out the middle
(longer type) bulbs for a spiral type.
Use the same specs from that bulb..
or at least something close to those
specs of the middle bulb.. with a spiral
CFL bulb. That has the same specs or
very close to the same specs as the middle
longer bulb. Good question though.

Plus.. that's not the only CFL lighting kit
that they make. They have about 5 or
six different models. Worth taking a look
at if your a CFL user. I know I was as
happy as I could be once I stumbled upon
that website ya dig. peace.

P.S. -Thanks for the reminder too man.
Appreciated. Grazie....

For the same price (including shipping!) as what you linked to, you can have a 400w HPS, 55,000 Lumens, much better penetration than CFL's.:peace:

this system is a 420w 44,000 high out put floro.. it blows 400w hps lamps away.. and can probably keep up with, or at least maintain well, against a 600w..

i can promise the 400w quote because i have an active comparison (ill post a pic of my grow)...

they barely hit 90F... can be kept damn near on top of your plants... and have either grow or bloom bulbs...

as long as you have space for them (1'x4' approx)

the plants under the floros are further along than the ones under the hps, in terms or flower production.. its only been a week and the ones on the left and right on the center row have more flower production than the center row does...

oh and yea, the plant in the very front middle row is fucked right now.. dont know why.. dont need any criticisms about it tho..

There is no helpful info for cfl grower's apart from get some h.p.s lights has soon has possible dude.Cfl are ok to keep clones and to get seeds going but they have not got the back bone to flower a cannabis plant to it's full potensial.

just put together system with 5 dual spectrum kits and aeroflo grower. can't vent heat or stink effectively where i am so think this is the way to go. after reading rosemans cfl threads and seeing a few others i'm convinced you can get great smoke though lower yield with similar set up. much less heat, elec. usage were factors for me.

ive grown many potent plants on cfl's. i currently use 150w hps and a 400w mh for flowering but the 550w cfl i used before definitely ran cooler. especially if you have the ballast in the same room. my 400 has the ballast in another room and that sumbitch puts out serious btu's. if it was in the flower room i would have a tough time with heat. also, even when the plants grow right into the cfl's, the only thing that gets burned is the part directly touching the bulb. my current setup will burn plants from further distances and will burn more of the plant if i get sloppy. good luck with the new setup.

People may want to possibly consider a different source for their lighting than InsideSun.

Some years back I ordered several lights and when delivered only one of them was what I ordered.

The others were the same wattage as I ordered but had different reflective hoods, inferior ones that were less expensive.

I first emailed and after not receiving a satisfactory response I called and to shorten the story somewhat I was first told that the ones I ordered were out of stock so they substituted what they had in stock.

I said I would rather return what I had been sent and wait for what I wanted.

Next was, it would be a very long time before they received new stock and there really wasn’t any difference in quality so I might as well keep what I had been shipped.

I didn’t really believe that but I did ask if since what I had been shipped were lower priced models if they would at least refund me the difference in price.

I was told no refund would be given.

I said I did not believe that to be fair or even honest and the InsideSun employee let loose with a string expletives that would have made a drunk Marine blush.

So possibly people should shop around a bit more and not jump on whatever they find that has the lowest price just because it appears to be the best deal based on price and price alone because they may experience something at least somewhat similar to what I experienced, at least if they pick InsideSun to do business with.

the whole point of doing a cfl grow is to do it cheaply right?

To any serious grower one factor that is key to growing is grams produced to watts used and HID lighting beats CFL lighting hands down any and every time when it comes to grams produced to watts used.

Growers should factor in the value of their yield, not as in a dollar amount like if they will then sell their harvest, but value as in overall quantity and quality combined.

They then have to look at what they get/got in return for the risks they face(d), the expenses they incurred and their time and efforts and see if a true valid value in relation to the above factors can be found.

If they do, then that is fine. If they do not, they need to start making changes.
